Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe overall cleanliness of the room was decent - some of the fixtures in the bathroom and kitchen are a little older and have wear and tear. Discovered two cockroaches in one night by the kitchen sink and entry door - not great but not a great deal that we bothered to notify owner.
The bed was super comfortable and the location was great - very close to the flower/food/vintage market, restaurants, cafes, and the waterfront. We needed a location that had a laundry washer and this unit had one - this was great. Owner lived upstairs and was available and quick to respond when in need of something. Would definitely book again in the future.

United KingdomThe only thing is the stairs, up 2 flights of steep staircase but I am only drawing attention to this for anyone with mobility issues. We got used to it & we are ‘older ladies’. My friend also managed to cope with the bed on the mezzanine, low ceiling so no good for a tall person. None of this is a criticism as there was nothing we didn’t like!
Quirky apartment in the old town in a fantastic location! Everything, literally, on our doorstep eg. Great butcher with the best entrecôte steak I’ve ever tasted! Rotisserie chickens too. Coffee at the indien. A maze of narrow streets, with art galleries, shops, restaurants that all lead to marche Cours Saleya & the promenade des anglais. I got it down to a 7 minute walk but that was a few days into the trip! 😁The fun was navigating the various routes & coming across hidden gems. Stephane was an amazing host, who provided information on places to visit & checked in to make sure all good! A bientot Stephane! I will definitely be returning.

North MacedoniaThe host was wonderful, after a long day in traveling in my room was a bottle of wine and a juice. Stephane was so helpful during the entire stay. Also due to my late plane he let me stay longer at the apartment. Wonderful place to spent your holiday in Nice.

United KingdomTall people beware the low ceiling to the bathroom 😅.
The location was amazing. Charming place. Opposite a fabulous coffee shop, next to fried chicken and a butcher’s, and a minute’s walk from local food, ten minutes from the beach and quirky shops. The bed for kids is brilliant.

United Statesnothing I can think of
We loved everything about our stay. The location was amazing; with lots of dining options, a beautiful playground pavilion across the street, 3 grocery stores nearby, and 8-minute walk to Opera beach, it could not have been more perfect. The apartment was clean and spacious enough- simple and functional, with amenities like a combi oven, laundry washer, and self-locking door. It was well-equipped with everything we would possibly need, and more. This was our first time renting an apartment from its direct owner (we usually stay at aparthotels when traveling for family vacations) and we didn't know what to expect. I am pleased to say that our overall experience at Nice 29 was delightful-- the host was attentive, responsive, and welcoming, and the apartment truly felt like a home away from home. Thank you for having us, Stephane! We will be back.

AustraliaThere was nothing I didn't like, if I had to suggest anything, it would be to upgrade the bath towels, I think they have seen better days, and new pillows. Perhaps, as it is so close to beach having an additional beach towel, rather than use the bath towels, would be handy.
A great apartment in a wonderful location in the old city, loved the lane ways, and the proximity to restaurants, 15 min walk to to the promenade and "la plage". Stephane the host was wonderful, he went out of his way to be helpful. Would definitely stay here again ... despite the stairs!

NorwayThere was a very steep staircase up to the apartment . It was disappointing that the bus to St. Paul de Vence didn't come (bus 655) and the bus times online weren't updated, so unfortunately we didn't get there. The service in cafes and restaurants could be better. As a diabetic, it was very difficult if I asked if they could deviate from what was on the menu.
Door code was fine. Location was good, in the middle of the old town. We love the atmosphere. We also recommend trips to Antibes and Villefranche-sur-Mer, easy to get there.

United KingdomMinor things, but the plumbing could be quite noisy at times (to be expected in such an old building). There isn't any natural light in the bedroom so it felt a little claustrophobic. The stairs are very steep. We didn't mind at all, but it could be a challenge for people who are less mobile.
The location was just amazing and it meant we could pack so much more in to our time in Nice. It was a very fun place to stay and it was so good to have a bright comfortable living space to come home to Stephane was on hand to welcome us with wine and chocolate. The main bed was comfy. My daughter slept quite well on the sofa bed (as a teenager she didn't mind a bit of discomfort.) Stephane offered to change the configuration of the main bed into two, but she preferred to have her own space!
