Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe frequent smell of sewage emanating from the shower or upstairs sink, I imagine that this is due to the layout of the pipework in the old building. It might be resolved by installing an anti vac valve on the pipe to the sink. The sofa is fine for a short while, but great for watching a film on rest days. Could do with a modern TV that you can cast netflix to. Not the cleanest apartment.
Nice little quiet, cozy place to stay, local to most places that you'd want to visit in Lyon.

Belgium• Small moist smell in the shower (nothing much) • Like some others pointed out, it is a bit dark with only one window but with all the lights put on its more than light enough
• Easy check-in, all instructions for a smooth check-in are given by the host well in advance. • Property is easy to find • Friendly and helpful hosts • Nice, somewhat central location in Lyon, almost everything is doable on foot (we didn’t need use the public transportation at all) • Quite spacious (ceiling is a bit low above the kitchen but not a problem) • Ground-floor apartment

United KingdomThe place was clean, however it seemed like the appliances and things in the apartment were either second hand or overused. E.g. inside the coffee machine was covered in old, used coffee, the fork and knives were coming apart, the fan worked but was wobbly, quite loud and did not rotate, etc. Although there was a sign about the shower unit, the boards outside were mouldy and bent due to water escaping from the shower - it needs to be replaced and fixed. The boiler had recently been replaced so there was a huge hole in the wall, again with a sign.
Great location. There was no air con, but the apartment came with a fan and was cool (even if it was 38° outside). Equipped kitchen, lots of plug sockets, decent wifi and rather spacious. Beds were fine, but after 3 nights became slightly uncomfortable. clear instructions on how to get into the apartment and contactable host via the messaging service on Booking.com

RomaniaAlthough the flat is located very well, it has few downsizes like : no natural light inside results mold odor. The only window was not closing well. Noise at night as it is at the ground floor at the main gate. It is equipped with all necessary thinks, although little old.
It is an ideal location for visiting Lyon. Near the building you have all the shops you need for getting : croissant, fresh fruits, fresh fish, fresh meat, etc. It is located like 2 minutes from Bellecour square, 10 minutes to Perrache Railway station, 7 minutes to the old town, what can I say : you are in the middle of the action.

The apt is a studio at the ground level. It’s very central and has all the things you need. I never met the host but it was very nice and responsive through booking messages.

SpainThe whole place only has one interior window and therefore is very dark. The pics are probably old as it’s clear the owners don’t invest in maintenance. The walls were dirty, there were spider webs in certain places, the mattress was dirty and most importantly, there was a leak of water in the bathroom that made the place smell the water infiltration/mold. And they had the nerve of putting a sign saying we should close the curtain when showering. Seriously? Why don’t you fix and maintain the place properly?!?!? If it was a hotel, I’d definitely have asked for another room… see pics
