Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe felt very much welcome. The host was super friendly and helpful and (literally) went the extra mile to provide us with a vegan option (oat + soy milk) for breakfast. The room and bathroom were clean and functional. The breakfast in general was very good. The hotel is easy to find a few meters from a central road … and thus a bit outside of pitoresque Lunéville. However, there are supermarkets and restaurants in walking distance.

United KingdomNothing, it was simple so don’t expect luxurious decor / facilities but all was clean and comfortable.
Very good quality and clean, especially for a budget hotel. Breakfast was great. The host was very welcoming to us even when we booked last minute and helped us to be able to arrive late. I appreciated small touches like nice soap and tissues.

United KingdomThe location is very good, easy to reach from the motorway exit and with a lovely garden to sit and enjoy a drink and a snack. The host is very welcoming, he made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Good continental breakfast. They don't serve evening meals at the weekends but there are a couple of nice eating places a short walk from the hotel.

United KingdomNot much to be honest other than the restaurant was fully booked so we had to pop across the road. Not a problem and we should have booked beforehand. Would have liked a kettle in the room.
Location was great for us and the hotel owners were great and very accommodating. Lovely seated area outside to have some much needed drinks.

United KingdomRather grumpy other owner, perhaps he's just not a morning person 😉 The breakfast was very over priced for what was offered so we didn't partake.

LuxembourgNothing negative. The price was not low but reasonable, taking into account the holiday season and especially the service level.
This was our second visit to this hotel. The hotel photos and its own website represent its situation well. A perfect midway location between Paris and Munich, Bern and Brussels. Many tourist sites within a short driving distance. Nancy and Vosges Mountains are very close. The hotel is located at the outskirts of a small town. There are three restaurants and a quite large supermarket (Lidl) just across the road. There are also in-house dinning possibilities. We just took a breakfast, which was very plentiful and diverse in comparison to the traditional French breakfast. There is a motorway nearby, but we did not hear any noise inside. The restaurant connects to a garden outside. The hotel is not big, but it has a very generous parking space. The rooms and common areas are designed in an unassuming, yet calming way. All areas were clean. The heating was sufficient (the weather was getting rather cold and wet). The staff was in general friendly, but the older gentleman in the reception (owner?) exceeded all expectations. While we communicated mostly in French, he also spoke excellent English. He was very cordial and helpful to the point of bringing some complementary snacks due to inconvenient time of our arrival and offering to reserve a table in a nearby restaurant. It felt like making a family visit. Merci de votre accueil chaleureux !

United KingdomWe booked this quite last minute after travelling all day by car from the UK. When we arrived, we were greeted by an extremely helpful receptionist (I didn’t catch his name). It was quite late when we arrived and he still took his time to explain everything to us, and even mentioned a pizza place across the road (I’d recommend to eat there also) - he even chased after us when we left for the restaurant and gave us an umbrella incase it rained! The hotel is spotless, plenty of private parking and was a perfect location near the motorway (extremely quiet when sleeping) for us to continue the journey the next day. I’d recommend the breakfast also, fresh and great selection to set you up for another day travelling.

United KingdomThe new owners of this hotel are slowly modernising the building. It is a lovely old French hotel very reasonable price and comfortable. In the evening a set meal was offered, the meal would not win any prizes but for the price was excellent and quite satisfying. the breakfast was also good value with a little more choice provided then a traditional French breakfast. Excellent location, when next in the area we shall stay again.
