How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I liked the room and would stay again, however it would have been nice to have a kettle in the room or facilities where you can get hot/cold water as this was not available in the room.
The room was good value for money. Basic accommodation for one nights journey. We had a good night sleep in the room and the bed was comfortable. We would stay here again.

It’s situated just off the motorway so very convenient en route to Calais. The steak restaurant was just a short stroll away, great for weary travellers.

We would have liked a kettle and tea/coffee making facility in the room.
Very convenient for a one-night stopover. It was nice to have a family room without a sofa bed and we slept well on the comfortable beds. Staff were friendly and helpful!

Location, but again that's not their fault!
Lovely staff. Only came here because we broke down and had to wait the next day for a repair but staff couldn't have been nicer. Not the sort of place i'd go normally but very pleased. Thank you for making a difficult day easier.

Clean, easy to find, friendly staff. It's really good value. 2 adults, 2 children in a room, not spacious but perfect for a layover. Definitely recommend..

The receptionist helped to find a place for dinner. The sink was blocked and offered to fix it straight away. we delayed to the following day because it was late fory kids.

Ace are always good and are go to. Breakfast was good and is worth it. Restaurant in walking distance..lots of parking and some grass outside which was useful as we have a dog. Room was clean. Bathroom too. Everything you need. Good tv etc.

Breakfast was a little expensive for what was available in my opinion. Rather have more variety
It was clean and neat. The staff tried hard on speaking English. We had a broken door and they fixed it right away! Good service!

The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner ie areas of grout in shower area not very clean. Unfortunately the air conditioning in the hotel was not working so room was a bit uncomfortable as it was hot weather
Staff were really pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was nice and fresh.

Nothing really - triple room a little cramped and the shower was a bit wonky (shower pipe was twisted so difficult to stay straight)
Really convenient for the motorway, easy check in and quiet location (sound barriers line the car park and are very effective). Casual restaurant next door serving burgers/ salads/ steaks with great food and discount for hotel guests. Fantastic value and a great stopover on the way to the coast.

We would appreciate knowing before our arrival there was discount at the restaurant next to the hotel with some discounts for hotel’s residents

The location is not really near anything although there is a basic restaurant next door. AC did not seem to work as the room would not cool down. Also why, oh why do some European hotels still insist on those awful square pillows!!!! Impossible to get comfortable with them.
Pleasantly surprised with the hotel. As a budget the rooms were nice a large and very quiet. The big car park is excellent with plenty of spaces and as it is not far off the motorway it is an excellent stop off.
