Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumVery poor soundproofing, there was a karaoke concert in the bar and it was impossible to sleep until 1am. The room is very small, you can barely get around the bed.
The staff were friendly.

United KingdomMore towels please :)
1. The location was great because of proximity to the station. 2. The host was helpful and kept the place clean. His instructions were clear, it was easy to get to the room. 3. Breakfast was served promptly and 4. felt good to have the shared bathroom to ourselves as there weren't many people staying at the same time. 5. The room has an AC and curtains closed automatically which was really helpful to get a good nights sleep.

FranceWe arrived at 5 PM (check in was from 4 PM) and the staff had no idea we had a booking. We were told to come back in an hour and half while they got someone to clean the room. We were exhausted and ended up waiting in their bar where they could have easily offered us at least a coffee or something for the inconvenience, but no chance.
It was ok. Not great value for a shared-bathroom accommodation with a small room up a very steep and narrow staircase in an old and rickety apartment building.

United KingdomWe found parking was an issue, there was some street parking but the nearby secure car park the hotel directed us to was 'not open to the public'. The nearest secure car park we could get in was 25 mins walk away. The entrance was a courtyard at the back of the restaurant which was accessed via an alley housing the dumpster bins.
Lovely staff, clean room and comfortable bed, air conditioning, nice breakfast. Excellent location with good bus and Metro connections.

FranceIt wasn't very clear in the description that the rooms didn't have a private bathroom, but instead two shared bathrooms for 4 rooms.
Quiet, clean room in a vibrant part of town.

PhilippinesThe stairs. Narrow & steep. The beddings. They are ones that appear to necer have been laundered. No mirror.
Seniors or those who are 65 & above must not be allowed here. The staircase is narrow & a little bit steep. If one is suffering from a heart attack, there’s no hope for the hospital. He will surely die before he can be moved out of this place. It’s a good place for those who are 55 y.o. & below. They can move around without difficulty. The neighborhood is okay. There’s a laundromat beside the Air Bnb although a laundry machine is also provided. There’s a bar below/ outside. & one can just people watch whole drinking beer.

GermanyThe rooms and the corridors were a bit small and narrow.
Breakfast was very good and so was the friendliness of the staff. Very hospitable people. Location was great too, in a bustling locality with lot of food options and pretty close to the Metro.

United KingdomThe staff were so welcoming and kind. We were extremely late due to car troubles but the lovely owner, Kamel, stayed up until 3:30am to welcome us. The room was super clean and the location was very convenient, a 4 minute walk to the Lumiere metro station. I would stay there again!!!

GermanyThe room is on top of a bar and directly facing a busy street. On a Friday night, it was so loud that we could barely sleep with earplugs. Our room was so small that there was barely any place for our luggage. Also note, that it is quite outside, you need 30 minutes on the subway, which was pretty overcrowded every time we used it. For the same price, there is just simply plenty of better accommodation in Paris. We have decided to move to an other hotel and the staff on location tried its best to get some refund, but the communication was pretty hard as they did not speak much English.
The place seems to be newly renovated.

FranceI hadnt realised it was a shared bathroom. It would have been great if there had been a table I’d could have done a videoconference from. I appreciate there wasn’t much space for one.
Breakfast was amazing. A/C was very welcome. The staff were very helpful. Found me a space to work in the brasserie.

United KingdomExtremely loud. Not even being dramatic by saying I had two of the worst night sleeps I’ve ever had. Other people staying in the hotel were slamming doors till the early hours and making loads of noise. Bed also had cushion pillows instead of actual pillows?
Staff were super friendly and helpful.
