Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SwitzerlandMaintenance & Cleanliness not great: Broken lamp at the entrance, cigarettes on the balcony, clogged siphon in the bathroom, just the bare minimum equipment of everything in the apartment (4x spoon, fork, knife, cup...), elevator didn't work one day.
Free parking, easy check-in, fairly good price, nice view.

United KingdomNo reception, you have to go next door to Holiday Inn who have the keys. You also have to pay a €100 security deposit which always makes me uncomfortable. Some people don’t have credit cards. I also had my details hacked in a fraud attempt. Messaging me via WhatsApp prior to arriving requesting card info to be entered via a link to verify booking.com reservation pre check in. I thankfully checked this direct with hotel who advised they had been hacked.
The rooms are spacious and good for a family stopover travelling through Europe.

Nice clean place with stunning view from the top floor. Well provided kitchen with small dish washer. Indoor swimming pool (as shown in booking.com) is next door at the Holiday Inn Hotel. It is only a few step from the apartment. The charge is 9 euro per-person. 3 restuarants are just next door.

The rooms were clean. Location was good. We were close to restaurants and shops. A fitness centre and pool was available for us to use at the Holiday Inn hotel. The staff at the hotel were very nice. They completed our check in.

The apartment is spacious and clean, in a quiet location, has a kitchen equipped with everything you need. Near by there are big shops like Cora, Decathlon, Ikea.. I liked also the balcony.

ItalyIn the apartment wasn't washing machine, and even possibility to dry up the clothes if I wash manually. Big bed wasn't big enough for 2 adults, size of the room allowed to put bigger bed, so could be nice to do it. I couldn't get so easy password for wifi. Was very difficult to get clean towels and bed sheets. Personal speaks English, but not so we'll to understand simple sentence. On the arrivel hotel asked us to pay 100€ per day for safety, which wasn't written nowhere, and we already payed all our stay. We also didn't find conditioner, which could be useful for everybody. For the families like we are, could be useful to have 2 pair of keys, but there was only 1. Every time I have to go downstairs to open the main door, when my husband was coming. Close to the entrance outside very often we found rubbish on the floor, we have to jump over, to go out of building... somebody has to check on it. We are traveling very often and in all world we didn't find something like that... Please take for construction these notes and try to make for your guests comfortable stay in your apartment Trident. Best regards.
