Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

SpainI had to get used to the stairs going up to the bathroom and kitchen. It would be difficult for someone with limited mobility.
It was in a great location. Although I didn’t use much in the room it was very complete with TV, dishwasher, washing machine,etc. I felt safe there as a solo traveler. The bed was very comfortable.

GermanyThe sudio is ideal for 1 person. Small but really smart designed to get the most of the space. The location is perfect and it was unbelievably quiet. I slept very well. I didn't use the stove but kettle, fridge was useful. Would I stay here again? Yes. PS easy key collection. The building has character. PS Very clean!

SwitzerlandThe photographs I saw do not correspond to the property. I saw a large apartment with plenty of space and the property is a very small room. The photos need to be updated to match the actual property. This being said, I had a pleasant stay and enjoyed the location, the quietness, and the facilities available.
The property is very well located in the center of Dijon.

United KingdomBe very careful what you are booking. It was not clear on the Booking.com listing that the owners have TWO properties. Almost all the photographs are of one property which looks quite nice. I booked this for three nights, not noticing that in fact I had booked a TINY little studio apartment that was the impractical place I have ever stayed. The bed doubles up as the sofa, there is nowhere to store or hang anything and to describe this as 'luxury' is an outrageous abuse of the term! This was indeed on the rue de Bouhier but there was no sign of another apartment so, with my suspicions raised, I tried to see if I could book their 'other' apartment and entered several dates. This was not available on any of the dates I entered, only the studio. Which leads me to believe that this listing is very misleading/deceptive. So be very careful. I was VERY disappointed.
The location is excellent and there were coffee capsules (environmentally unsustainable however) provided.
