Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesProperty does sit above an outdoor restaurant oceanfront which becomes very active at night (loud). Can also hear the people hanging out on the beach at night. That said - it was just my husband and I so we both agreed the great location makes up for all this!!
Fantastic location - steps to the daily outdoor market. Property is on the main pedestrian shopping/restaurant area, with views of the ocean from the small patio. Plenty of cafes to pick from steps from the door!! Beach is just across the street. Property is on the 4th floor but has a great elevator that takes you right to the door. One bedroom in the apartment with a separate large family room with a tv and table for eating. Also has a twin bed in the corner of this room so could easily sleep 3 people. Full bathroom (shower only) and kitchen. Kitchen was separate from the rest of the apartment (in its own room) and was small, but functional. Mini fridge as refrigerator but it kept everything cold for us. Has washer/dryer which was very useful!

United KingdomThere isn't a shower door so the bathroom floor can get pretty wet.
Great location! The balcony looks right onto the perfect blue sea, the apartment is light and airy and spacious. It is located right in the middle of the Old Town which is always very busy and can be a little noisy in the evenings but nothing too bad. I would not recommend stocking up on groceries at any of the little shops in the immediate area as they are very expensive, walk into town and you'll find Carrefour, MonoPrix and several other places you can get food and drink at much more reasonable prices. Madame Vallet was very helpful and made sure we had good supplies of coffee (very important). It wasn't cheap but when we booked it we didn't realise that the Rugby World Cup would be taking place making all local accommodation more expensive than usual. However I still think it was value for money and we really enjoyed staying there.

ArmeniaUnfortunately, and as always, photos are misleading, and you end up paying over 400$ for a night, the price you pay for 5 Star Hotel in Nice, for a 3 star apartment worthing exactly the half. The photos don't show real views....

United KingdomOur only qualm was the shower head didn’t stay up properly however this is easily fixed and we just wedged it in place.
The apartment was well located within the busy area of the old town, the port was within walking distance and the beach was a stone throw away. There was also great access to buses, trams and trains. The apartment was so clean and decorated very quirky. It was exactly how the pictures were advertised. Plenty of space for a couple. All facilities were included, including beach towels. The staff was really friendly upon arrival and super quick in accessing the property. Lovely view of the old town. The stair case up to the apartment is stunning!

AustraliaHaving seen the pictures, we brought our own bedding. I'm glad we did this. There is nothing bad about their bedding, it's just very simple.
Excellent location. Quaint little French apartment. It looks just as the pictures posted. Strange array of furnishings, but that made it unique. It was clean and had everything we needed.

AustraliaI guess we are not used to small double beds, but we were able to use both beds provided and overcame this easily. If you're staying for a while, buy toilet paper. Two rolls is not really enough for a whole week.
The location of the Palais is the best thing about it. Just 1 minute to the beach and all the buzz of Nice old town, and yet very quiet once inside. It is charming inside, but please note that it is old, from the 1700s, and probably needs a renovation. Some apartments may be renovated, we stayed in Dufy 5, very top roof room. The kitchen was convenient, as was the washing machine. Madam Vallet is a delightful lady, but practice your French. Great to have beach towels provided too - that was very handy.

BelgiumA few extras in kitchen would have been welcome (salt, pepper, paper towels, scissors)
What a really lovely and charming spot! This is a historic building where Napoleon stayed. The entrance of the « palais » is beautiful; the painted ceilings and staircase grandiose. This is a bright and colourful « room with a (sea)view », with cosy wooden floors and is nicely decorated. The bed and pillows were very confortable; the kitchenette was small but functional. Super location next to Opera and Salaya flower market.

AustraliaThe room was covered in dust. The amount of dust could trigger an allergic reaction. The property is not suitable for people who have allergies. The room had foul odour. Everything in the room was old. The bed was made to look antique by adding an old headboard; not attached to the bed but just leaning on the wall. It was said that the property had lift; my room was on the top floor and the lift did not reach there. The stair case to reach the top floor was dark, and there was no light. The rest of the stair case was also very, very dark. A proper flashlight or mobile torch is needed to access stairs. The lift was so narrow and scary. It was said that toiletries and essential articles would be provided- yes there was half a roll of toilet paper on the holder and that was it. No additional toilet paper was provided.
Location was excellent. All windows were open to the beach and the view was magnificent.

United KingdomThe furniture was pretty bad. Five hard chairs and a sort of bed that had to double as a couch. The view was great but it couldn't be seen at seating level so you had to stand out to look out the window.
The location was good and the building in which the apartment was in, was beautiful. The host was a very nice lady.

United StatesThere is nothing we did not like (if I had to come up with something, I'd say that the elevator is quite small, but this is normal for putting an elevator in an old beautiful building).
The space and furnishings are lovely. The view is extraordinary, as is the old building. The living room was quite spacious. The balcony was a great place to eat our breakfast.

United KingdomThe apartment is in dire need of renovation - shabby paintwork, plaster coming off walls and some evidence of water intrusion. The beds were not comfortable and the window shutters were too shabby to be of any use as a form of curtain.
The location of the property is the main plus point

The location is unbeatable. Being located in the heart of the Nice old town on the main reataurant street 50 meters from the beach can’t get much better. The room was gorgeous, spacious and clean. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We just loved every minute we spent there.
