Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was quite windy and I didn’t know boats are so noisy at night! It bucked a lot so I couldn’t sleep unfortunately as I am not used at all. Cost of towels and bedding and also cleaning should be included in the total price.
We stayed as family of 4. The experience of sleeping on a boat is something I won’t forget.. Mr. Florent explained everything and showed us around the boat. We don’t speak French but he used google translator so we could communicate easily. Location is good, 20 mins walk from the centre and there is Carrefour and Mc Donalds 10mins away.

United KingdomThe host was super at making us feel welcome and how to locate great restaurants in the area. He kitted out the boat with everything we needed. I highly recommend watching the sunset and sunrise, the views are incredible. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

FranceThe location at the marina is beautiful, and was very peaceful despite the funfair in the main square. Florent spent a lot of time explaining everything about the boat and gave me recommendations for where the locals go to eat. Certainly the restaurant I chose was absolutely fantastic (Tonton Louis at the fishing port, a couple of miles along the coast)! The boat has a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, although the shower is typically tiny, so I chose to use the marina facilities located just at the end of the ponton, which are reserved for "badge holders", i.e. not open to the tourists. I cycled everywhere - and if the weather had not been as lovely as it was, there is also a floating shuttle ("bus de mer") from the marina to the vieux port and back. The only - very minor - drawback to the boat was that it was not overly warm, but then it was February and boats are generally not going to be as well insulated as houses! The two heaters provided were just about sufficient to keep the boat cosy. A very unusual but delightfully memorable stay.

United KingdomWas surprised buy having to pay extra for sheets & towels. Even more surprised about optional €40 cleaning bill. We decided to clean ourselves which was fine. We didn’t really make a mess.
It was so lovely going to sleep on a boat and waking up in such an amazing location . Didn’t feel any rocking. Close to the shower block. Lovely bathroom on board but only used the toilet ( not shower ). Given good location details to find man who showed us to the boat. He was very helpful and on time for arrival and leaving.

GermanyIt was an amazing experience staying on Florent`s boat. It's perfectly situated in a very calm and peaceful area of the La Rochelle marina. We really loved the boat, it has everything you need even for a longer stay, a well equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a toilet and a shower but it's also very easy and convenient to use the marina facilities, they are only a few steps away and spotlessly clean. Florence is a such a sympathetic man. Our French isn't the best so we communicated via google translator which was total fun. Now we miss the sunsets and the slight swaying at night... It clearly was one of our best holidays ever. Thank you, Florent!

United KingdomCramped. Very hot. Water was very smelly due to the extreme heat which obviously was not the fault of the owner. It would have been a much better experience in cooler times.
Unusual to stay on a boat instead of a hotel.

United StatesIt is tricky to get to the harbor because of the layout of La Rochelle and a fair amount of street closures due to the construction
unique setting and great sleep on the boat. The harbor is huge but has a water taxi to take you to the central area of La Rochelle

ItalyThe only thing that I would say is that it should be recommended to arrive by car, we didn’t rent one and to get there on foot is not so easy, but not such a big problem
The owner is so helpful and makes and reliable. He was so nice with us even with the explanation in English. The boat is bigger than what it seems in the pictures, super comfy and full of accessories. The front of the boat gives the opportunity to be set outside in the evening or morning and look at the quietest place you will ever be in. Calm, relaxing and super comfy, it has everything you would find in a hotel room but in a different way! Merci Florent!

The boat was very modern and extremely clean. No shoes allowed on board! A lot of thought had gone into making our stay comfortable. We were kept up to date with where the boat was and available arrival times. The owner was very punctual and helpful, giving us a 30 minute induction as to what switches were for what and how to fill the water tank. It had mains electricity and heating. The marina had about a 1000 boats in it but was very quiet. If you didn’t want to use the on board shower there was a large shower block just outside the security gate. There was ample room for a couple but a bit cramped for 4 adults if spending much time on the boat. Sleeping for 4 adults ok. 2 Adults and two children would be fine. Many good restaurants in easy walking distance. car park just outside marina. Beach in very easy walking distance!
