Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBecause it is an old building, the staircase is narrow and steep. Our luggage was heavy (our own fault), so we had difficulty getting it up to our room.
Good breakfast, nice staff.

United KingdomAs others have mentioned, the steps up to the top floor are steep and narrow but to be expected in a characterful property.
Excellent location, very quiet but just a few minutes walk from the centre. Helpful and friendly staff. Decent breakfast. We were able to arrive early and leave our luggage and on departure day we also left our cases at the property for the day. Be sure to visit some vineyards. Oh là là organises great tours and tastings!

IrelandLocation was ideal, we walked everywhere. Staff were excellent, very helpful when we arrived. We were able to store luggage until check in and then again after we checked out. The host made many detailed recommendations, using a map to guide us toward the locations. Breakfast was filling.

United StatesThere's not one thing we didn't like. We will definitely go back when we're in the area.
I cannot say enough about Au Coeur de Bordeaux B&B. The room's antique furnishings made us feel like we were really in an old mansion which has lots of charm. The hostess (manager) Letitia was super wonderful and accomodating to all our needs. We picked this place since it was within a 3 minute walk of the Musée des Beaux Arts and as well as the parking and a great restaurant. One couldn't choose a better hotel right in the middle of the old town of Bordeaux. The breakfast was equally perfect.

United KingdomMy room was downstairs by the front door and opened onto the reception and breakfast area. It was noisy around breakfast time and with people coming and going. I was only there for 2 nights, so it was manageable. Breakfast was OK, if you are expecting a large hotel buffet style with multiple choices, then this hotel is not for you.
Location was perfect, close to tram and bus routes. Owner and other staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. My room was stuffy and windows opened, but as it was on street level I wouldn't be able to leave it open during the night. It was March, so it was OK. I'm not sure it would be bearable in the summer as the aircon does not work.

United KingdomOur first night spoilt by a very noisy party in property opposite which went on all night - although out of the owners remit, this did taint our stay.
Bedroom and en suite very comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of variety.

FranceThe reason I gave hotel a 9 instead of a 10 is there is no elevator, so far some people stairs to most rooms will be difficult. I was given a room on the entry (street) level, which I liked overall, except I couldn’t sleep with the window open for fresh air as I don’t feel comfortable with a wide open window right on the sidewalk. I used the ac instead, but the unit has a bright light while in use. Next time I’ll bring a sleep mask.
I LOVED this hotel. Spacious comfortable room, beautifully decorated with French charm. Perfect central location. Great breakfast included. Very quiet, good ac and room darkening blinds. My new go to hotel for Bordeaux.

RomaniaWe missed the first night because of flight delays and payed the full amount, to much for what we got. We knew here was no lift but the spiral staircase was a real challenge for us, not young, carrying quite big suitcases. For one of the rooms, the bathroom is actually IN the room, which was a little awkward.
Breakfast and location were excellent. Friendly staff, good communication.
