How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Bedroom was small, there wasn't much space to move around the bed. When we arrived there were marks on the curtains (probably haven't been washed for a long time), coffee marks on shelf next to the bed, black hair on a wall inside the shower, stains inside pillows. It feel like this place doesn't get cleaned thoroughly, not much attention to details. Other than that all good
Good price, good location, close to underground station. Good size shower. Receptionist allowed us to check in a little ealier without extra cost.

The bedsheets and bathroom were dirty. There was hair bits left behind. The floor was sticky. Overall, the aesthetics were damaged and old.

The room was super okay, but the air conditioner was not working and the bathroom wasn't very clean. The Sometimes was hard to talk with people in the hotel because they don't talk English, just a few people.
The location is perfect! Really near to the Vieux Port and with a subway station just in the corner. The room is really good and comfy.

The room smelled like the previous guests had smoked inside the room. The shower curtain had mold on it. It was a bit of a hazard to find a parking spot to check in because the hotel's private parking was full and the streets as well. We could use the parkinggarage close by.
The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked fine. The location is perfect, close to the centre and the harbour. Personnel spoke perfect English and was very helpful.

We didn't like that the wall had blood from killed mosquitos all over the room... The bathroom curtain was so filthy and dirty at the bottom... Some parts of the wall had oily stamps from someone's hand...
It was located at a good point. The staff was really friendly and were speaking good english.

-No english speaking staff. -We stayed 3nights and every day they changed towels. What a wasting. Why do you keep signs "for changing towels keep them on the floor" then?.... -Noisy place.

The breakfast was a bit underwhelming. The scrambled eggs were a bit weird.
Nice staff, croissant were good, other than the eggs the breakfast was ok-ish. Shower was nice with decent pressure, all was clean. The location was good, a 10-15 walk to the port (where you can find plenty of bar/restaurant) Impossible to park around if you have a car, make sure parking is available in hotel or qpark

The worst was the door slamming of the heavy room doors (which slam themselves when closing) - when laying in my room i could hear a door slam at least once every single minute, which almost made the wall shake. That drove me slightly nuts. Isolation-wise you can hear the message notification of your neighbor through the wall, therefore if you are sensitive to sound and want a place to relax, i would definitely not recommend. I slept with earplugs and was fine. Secondlt, i found quite a lot of hair on the floor in the bathroom when i first entered.
Bed is comfy, pretty central, close to shore and curtain blackens out light well, shower head is large

Great area with a few bars and shops and only a twenty minute walk to the centre. Good, clean hotel with friendly staff and a great breakfast.

Room in overall was after cleaning, but floor was dirty, walls were smudged, bed was terrible for couple from two parts. Bathroom was disgusting especially shower with shower curtain. Air conditioning was not working.
It was great location near metro and that was it. Looking good on the pictures
