No good knife for cutting vegetables and baguettes . No info sheet provided to include WiFi access. Otherwise all very excellent!

We were there in March and it was cold, especially after the walk from the train station to the accommodation. Needless to say the house was freezing and it took at least 45 minutes to sufficiently heat up the room and the rest of the house. I got the feeling that nobody does a check before guests arrive and housekeeping was solely responsible for that. The bathroom and restroom floors were very cold, so one has to go in wearing house slippers. Rugs would have been helpful. There was no soap in the restroom, so I had to make my way to the bedroom to go to the bathroom to wash my hands. The towels and bed comforter had a musty odor. The bedroom was beautiful but there wasn’t any privacy because it did not have a curtain. The bedroom window faces the courtyard of another place and also has a trash can that means people have access to that area and can easily see into the windows and at night the sensor light turns on. While 2 of the windows were quarter covered with a privacy film although not sufficiently, the other window wasn’t and this was parallel to the uncovered part of the sliding glass door of the bathroom where you can see one showering. (FYI only one side of the bathroom window by the sink can be covered with bamboo shade but not the sliding door). There was a blue trash can behind a curtain with a lot of trash that had not been emptied. I didn’t fuss over these issues only because I was there for 1 night but I request the host do a check after housekeeping finishes cleaning to avoid guest disappointment. Note that March vs summer time makes a huge difference in the temperature f the room as such a few things here may not be relevant.

It was a last minute decision to spend a night in Dijon and we didn’t arrive until 8pm. This house was absolutely beautiful but worth for a longer stay to actually enjoy it. The kitchen was fully equipped. Comfortable bed. Lovely decor. The host was just wonderful and was happy to let us check out late and leave our bags in the house until our departure. The host has a lot of helpful information- books and brochures about the city and restaurants. Very well located too.

Decor is a matter of taste. The dark blue/black walls didn't enhance the mood. Very dark bedding not changed for 5 nights, lack of sufficient towels. The couple of bath towels provided were of poor quality and never dried between use. More towels were provided late in our stay at our request. The name implies a B&B. It is not. No breakfast or any other services are provided. This is strictly a do it yourself apartment rental.

Location, location, location. Spacious. Close by, excellent public parking. Great wifi. Washing machine and drying rack. Good kitchen with all appliances in good order. Secure. Good lighting and heat. TV with Google TV, Netflix and Prime, though a previous client set it up in Dutch so we didn't use it.

The apartment was a little stuffy at night (although there was a fan).

The apartment was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. There was a car park 2 mins walk away, where we parked the car overnight. The location was great for exploring Lyon.

Wish we could tell you but we were not able to get in. The lock box location and pin were not provided. After a lot of confusion and help from passers by, we did locate the lock box but without the code, that wasn’t much help. We tried more than six times to telephone the owner and were directed to voicemail each time. I sent messages to him via Booking which were ignored. After wasting 3 hours of precious vacation time, we had to stay at a Best Western outside of the city. The accommodation at Victor Dumay was prepaid and we have been struggling to get a refund from this man even though he promised to do so. It has been almost 3 months since we have been home and even after speaking with Booking’s call centre, we still do not have our money. They simply say that he is unresponsive?? I have read through previous reviews of this place and noticed a few others have had experiences like mine although they were eventually able to get in. Please think twice about booking this place.

The host took over 2 hours to reply to tell us entry details which meant waiting outside in the heat, panicking that we would have no accommodation. The host knew in advance (2 months) of our indicated arrival time so why not send the details prior to us arriving? The apartment DOES NOT have air conditioning- so that is a big lie. Nor are there ironing facilities and the courtyard view is of bikes and bins.
