How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The rooms could have used some carpets to make it more comfortabel.
It was close to the shopping mall and the rooms were clean. Staff was friendly and helpfull. I liked the big soap and shampoo dispenser.

I had booked this hotel mainly for the parking but a couple of days before they informed me that there would not be any parking. They proposed other parkings in the area and finally managed to find one. While the bathroom was large and on in general, the layout and equipment was a bit problematic (door not closing, toilet very high up :-D etc..).
The room was quite large for three persons. The breakfast was correct. Even though we stayed here while a football match was taking place at the Velodrome (which is right next to the hotel) there was no noise, which was excellent. The wi-fi was ok.

Parking area was full so we parked on a very main street just in front of the Marseille stadium. But, we had a theft attempt to our car. Our car’s window was broken during the night and our next day was ruined.
Staff was friendly.

There are vending machines and the options for food are very mediocre even from the hotels kitchen.
The rooms are very comfortable and the location is very convenient to visit the beach and the center of town.

Linking to the hotel wi fi was a cumbersome procedure. Each time I had to fill in an extensive personal information form. The procedure can be simplified. Just room mumber and password would suffice.

Quite a few: 1. the smell on the hallways is awful 2. there were no pillows, we had to ask for them 3. there is no free parking; there are 2 options, one is less expensive, but unsafe and the 2nd one is far too expensive (25 euro/24 h) 4. the lady at the reception was a bit dizzy, took a lot of time to make the check-in, didn't know much about parking fees or conditions to make recommendation (we found out from the guardian there the less expensive parking wasn't safe) and she would give us to pillows if we carried them, which we refused, so she had to bring them to our room 5. the bathroom door didn't close
It was ok, considering the money we paid, but I wouldn't stay more than 1 night. The room was large enough for the 4 of us, the children had separate beds.

lets say, location is far from city center and one needs to consider atleast 40 to 45 min by public transport to Vieux port.
rooms were very clean, good quality bedding and nice window view.

In the day of check-in the staff refuse to give me the room before 14:00. I was arrive at 12:00 and they told me that it is to early to check-in. First time ever this issue.

Wifi is extremely data invasive, they ask u for all your information twice every time you connect.
Is ok for one day, more than that will be uncomfortable.

If your stay happens to be on the same day as a football game it can be noisy but also interesting atmosphere.
