Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenWhen we arrived we were told that the room we booked was not available due to a water leak. We got a smaller room. We were also told that the air conditioning was broken and asked to open the window instead. Unfortunately there was no fan in the room so it took some time to get the room cool. But, the hotel gave us a little discount for the inconveniences.
Good location. Metro directly outside. Nice and clean. It is a nice and cozy hotel. The breakfast was good and the waiting staff pleasant and accommodating.

United StatesThere is an underground train that runs below the hotel so if you’re on the lower floors, you will hear it throughout the night. Breakfast isn’t included unless you pay extra, so overall it was a bit pricey.
The location was on a quiet street with trees and it felt safe to walk around in the area. The bed was big and extra long - and the room was a nice size for Paris standards. The hotel staff was friendly and there was a person at the door 24/7.

CroatiaThe staff was a bit rude (except two women at the reception). The men seemed to have been working in a prison camp before this. The other thing was that the men didn't speak english. It was like Columbus exploring the world and you happen to meet some people from another continent and no one speaks your language...
Location is great. You have a metro station right in front of the hotel which is very convenient. The room was actually good although small at first. The bathroom is great!

Shower doors were cheap, didn’t close fully, and sink leaked a bit behind it onto the shelf below. Room tiny bed comfy so OK.

HungaryUnfortunately, the room is very small. Hardly one double bed is in it, the room size is much smaller than the indicated 13 M2 because the bathroom is split from the room size. We lived on the first floor and the noise in the morning and night is rather bad.
The location is excellent, very close to Eiffel Tower and just next to a Metro station. The staff is very nice and helpful. There is a coffee machine with coffee capsules.

ItalyIt is very little, so people should keep that in mind if they are going with a partner or they have a big suitcase
It is small but perfectly formed. The location is great and the staff were very friendly. In addition, I think it was very good value for money (compared with similar hotels in Paris!)

ArgentinaThe room was quite small. Seems to me a bit pricy for a room that size. Not a dealbreaker though. Also does not have shampoo in the room, only some sort of all-porpose body and hair gel that I personally dislike. A shampoo in a supermarket solves it but anyhow it’s an inconvenience.
It’s just a few steps from the metro which is highly convenient, and a about 5 blocks away from the Eiffel Tower. The personal was very friendly. Also has an awesome boulangery (a french bakery and pastrie shop) half a block away we highly recommend.

DenmarkI wasn't pleased with two things. I arrived/checked in quite late at night. Unfortunately, the receptionist, a middle-aged man made it obvious that he was unhappy about something. I assume it was the only thing that could bother him. And unfortunately the card that gives access to the room does not allow guests to have access to the from the hotel's frontier. I went out and back in a couple of times as I had to find a place from which to eat late that night. Unfortunatel the receptionists was always trying to catch some sleep in the hotel's lobby and had to wake up everytime to let me in. It would be great to have unrestricted access whatever time of the night. The other two female receptionists that I dealt with the next day were a exactly what a customer looks for(pleasantness). Very satisfying to interct with. The other is 100 Euro/night surcharge that the hotel holds as surity. I left Paris 5 days ago and the money hasn't been released yet. While I have no doubt that it will soon reflect in my account, it unfortunately does make one think twice about booking and would easily consider the next hotel that isn't asking for surity. It would be in the hotel's best interest to have a good insurance, rather than try to pass it on to customers.
