Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe access to St Paul de Vence is limited to taxi rides each way. We spent a few euros getting back and forth for lunch and dinners. I would suggest more clarity on the distance to the village.
The small hotel / B&B was beautiful and the breakfast on the patio was sensational. Sophie has a great property and runs it very well. We appreciated her information sheet with info on the region around the hotel.

The house was lovingly designed and the location is perfect for day trips to the "hotspots" of the Cote d'azur. Every day started with a highlight - Sophie's breakfast! AustraliaEverything was exceptional and there was literally nothing that we felt needed improvement.
Our host, Sophie, was approachable, friendly, attentive and very helpful throughout the 4 days we spent at her property. She went out of her way to assist us with all questions and any bookings we needed. Our rooms were luxurious, spotlessly clean and absolutely stunning. The whole property, overlooking the french countryside is fantastic. The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully laid out. We loved her home baked cakes and delicacies. Every dish is handpicked by Sophie in order to deliver the best. Our stay was exceptional, the best we have stayed in and we would highly recommend this property. We would love to return.

Sophie is a wonderful host who made sure we were comfortable and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and places to visit in the area. NetherlandsWhere to begin… We have stayed 4 nights at this beautiful bastide, with the super hosts Sophie and Morgan. And we actually wished we would have stayed here for our entire Côte d’Azur trip. We have seen a lot of beautiful venues, hotels and B&B but this is something else. Sophie is so kind and she will try to make everyday special with a personal touch, starting with the amazing, high quality and extensive breakfast. Freshly baked cakes, home made jams, cheeses, charcuterie and other delicacies. Sophie checks in on you and is willing to help you with the best restaurant tips or other activities in the area. The location of the bastide is super good, close to St. Paul that offers a lot of good restaurants next to being a very beautiful village. The location also allows you to discover other places in the area, as it is located very central. We really recommend the coast drive to Monaco, where you also drive along the coast of Villefranche-sur-mer. What a beauty… Last but not least the interior of the bastide, it is all in the details here. From the rooms (very modern and comfortable), to the shared areas and outside in the garden. Everywhere you look, you see high quality and creative interior details. It truly shows the dedication of the hosts and we are honored that they are willing to share this with their guests. We have enjoyed the stay so much and cannot wait to come back when we visit the Côte d’Azur again. Thanks for everything!

DenmarkAll good!
Bravo, bravo and bravo! We have travelled a lot and to nice places, and when you experience quality in all its aspects we have to share it, giving other travelers the best option for a nice holiday. Sophie and Morgan are the hosts of this beauty hills side place and just have to say that pictures cannot capture how magnificent the view is. The place is renovated lately and everything is in good conditions as the practical part of it, and when you add all of the flavors like hospitality, service minded mentality and great taste in decor and then top it with good sense of humor, you start to get the right impression of this place and the people behind it. We must mention the “cuisine” part in details, as the breakfast was very nice and everything on the table was either made by them self or selected from a special place, very good French speciality experience. We stayed 6 nights, and could have added more days for sure. All in all nice people that would go over the top for you to secure a nice stay. Enjoy. Best holiday wishes. Dorthe and Michael

Our room (and everything else) was immaculate, very comfortable and the air conditioning a great relief from the July heat. AustraliaWe had the most perfect stay at Bastide les 3 Portes. It's the summer house I wish I had. - Sophie and her husband Morgan are the most lovely hosts. We felt like we were staying with old friends. - The house and grounds are fantastic, with so many areas to enjoy (we didn't have enough time to enjoy them all) - The pool is immaculately clean with a fantastic view of the valley. - The breakfast was fantastic. Incredible local produce, handpicked each day, that kept us full for hours. - The honesty bar by the pool was stocked with more great produce - beautiful champagne from boutique houses and lovely french snacks. - The proximity to St Paul De Vence means there is SO much to do, you could stay for weeks. - The room is cosy with all the amenities you could need including great air-con for Summer. Bonus points for the cute balcony in our room!

SwitzerlandOur stay was perfect because Sophie, the host, did everything to make your stay comfortable. The whole place is so lovely and well furnished with design elements that you just can feel good and comfortable. The area itself is super nice, and you have historic places, mountains and the ocean - everything is close and easily reachable. The breakfast is also excellent, with lots of pastries and other specialities that Sophie shops from local farmers in the region. Here you can feel that someone is running the guest house that worked a long time in the hospitality industry. Activity wise, you can bike, walk, swim in the ocean or relax at the fantastic pool area with an astonishing view over the valley of Sankt Paul de Vence. So if you want to enjoy and experience the Mediterranean coast of France, stay in a high-class venue run by a super professional person who loves what she is doing - then this is just the right place for you.

United KingdomSophie and Morgan have really created an unforgettable experience at Bastide les 3 Portes. With only a very small number of rooms open to guests, this is really a home away from home with exceptional care, attention to detail and generosity in sharing experience and knowledge of the area as well as their love of regional produce as is evident in one of the best breakfast services we have experienced in the region. We cannot wait to go back!

SwitzerlandOur stay at Bastides les 3 Portes was truly magnificent. Sophie and Morgan did a tremendous job at making us feel welcome and comfortable from the very first minute. They were always there when we needed them, and at the same time gave us all the space to relax and enjoy their facilities. True professionals. Their meticulous eye for detail and extra touch really makes this place stand out. Not only in terms of design and ambience, but also their deep knowledge about the area, local specialties, and delicacies. Sophie and Morgan go to great extent to source the highest quality products for their guests, thus making the experience of staying with them so memorable. From homemade jams and cheeses coming from family and nearby farms, to exquisite local wines and recommendations of places to see and visit. If you are looking to immerse yourself in the true French Riviera, you have found the right address. This is no ordinary maison d'hôte, but more like a 5* boutique guesthouse combined with the warm and welcoming feeling of staying with great friends. Thank you for sharing your house with us. We will be back! Greetings from Switzerland, Rahel and Gerard
