Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot really a criticism but worth knowing that on Sundays the bar serves only drinks no snacks or meals and that on Monday and Tuesday the bar is closed. As we stayed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, therefore, we didn't experience the bar atmosphere or get to order any of the bar meals. As ever with many hotels in France there is no kettle in the room so you can't make your morning cup of tea! We forgot to bring our portable kettle.
A very comfortable hotel in a perfect location for the little port of Bénodet. The host is very friendly and we appreciated the welcome drink. Our room was lovely, large, airy very clean and with a wonderful comfortable big bed. We liked the decor in the bedroom, dining room and the bar area - modern industrial/retro chic. We liked the breakfasts. Nearby parking was easy and free. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomThere really was nothing!
Everything! The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the town centre so a very short walk (100 mts) to the Quayside area and beaches. the hotel was immaculately clean and fresh and the hosts were very friendly helpful and attentive. We had chosen the room with a terrace. The room was on the first floor with a rooftop terrace looking out across the village square. A lovely place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening to watch the sun go down, it’s also very handy to hang your wet towels and swimsuits after a visit to the beach. The hotel decor was modern and fresh and breakfast was an amazing selection of breads, preserves, yoghurts and meats and cheeses. We will definitely return!

United KingdomThe only things that could have improved our stay would have been tea/coffee facilities in our room and a larger waste bin in the bathroom.
Bateau Libre is in a lovely location close to the port in Benodet and within walking distance of the main town, beaches. and restaurants. We loved the way the renovation had used materials that acknowledged the character and age of the property while giving the best of modern bedding, bathrooms and furnishing. Our room had the great advantage of having a beautiful terrace.

United KingdomI loved the aesthetic of the hotel, so cool and thought through. The location was perfect for us, a short walk from the ferry to Sainte Marine and excursions on the Odet river and out to the islands and also very easy to get to beautiful beaches. The staff were incredibly helpful and very knowlegable. The breakfast was fantastic, all of the 'usuals' but with a few other extras included, we particularly liked the yogurt with raspberry coulis and lime zest. A truly excellent hotel that deserves top marks for every aspect of our stay

BelgiumBreakfast was actually really nice, but lacked some variation: everyday was the same. Nevertheless: top quality. Coffee was OK, but we prefer a bit stronger taste.
Beautiful boutique hotel with lovely interior. Great music in the bar, nice tapas-style food. Breakfast was good. Possibly the friendliest staff ever! They really make you feel at home. Family room was also great: 2 separate bedrooms, one with a large double bed and one with two single beds. Ideal for a family with 2 teenagers.

United KingdomPrivacy blinds/curtains would be a good addition as we had to keep the curtains closed. A couple of comfortable chairs in the room.
We were met with a warm welcome. Throughout our stay the staff were delightful. The place was scrupulously clean - hats off to housekeeping! Our room was very large; the bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. A pleasant continental breakfast. We had no problem parking on the road adjacent to the hotel; if roadside parking isn't available there are car parks near the quayside. All in all a pleasant stay.

United StatesThey're going for a not-a-hotel feeling. So no "do not disturb" door hanger or other way to communicate you don't want your room cleaned. And a single physical key, no keycards.
Very welcoming staff. The service was fantastic. All the facilities are very clean and look very nauticaly trendy. Great breakfast, served in the cafe or at the communal table. Breakfast included the usual bread spread with local honey and jams. Also had cheese (loved the St Nectaire!), saucisson, fruit, yogurt, and granola. The family room is *big*. It's 2 rooms really, with a door you can close between the parents and the kids' room. The bathtub looks glorious, though we didn't have the time to draw a bath. You don't really get the feeling you're staying at a hotel. It feels like staying at a friend's. A friend with very good taste in interior decor and a housekeeper.

FranceThe owner Jean-Etienne was despicable. The hotel stating that animals are allowed, we brought our cat. We had given instructions not to leave the windows wide open, so that the cat could not jump out. The owner decided without our knowledge to enter the room and open the windows wide all day, because he thought the cat smelled too strong. When confronted, the owner was awful, mocking our concern for our animal, and threatening not to keep us for the night (at 7pm) and charge us extra cost. Regarding the breakfast, it was underwhelming for a price of 12 euros. It was not a proper buffet because some of the food is rationed per person (ham, cheese, cottage cheese). The drinks and food that are available freely do not have a great variety (two non-fresh bottled juices, hot water and coffee, some bread and some cereals, a basket with a few fruits, and some nuts…). I have seen better for the price. I would have liked to see pastries, yogurts, and some eggs in any form.
The beds were confortable. The location was good.
