Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe room does not have air-con, which is ok, but at the same time we could not sleep with the window open: since our room was to the rear of the hotel, there was a lot of noise coming from what I presume was an old air-conditioning fan somewhere in the backyard. Also the lobby and hallways could use some brush-up.
The hotel is well-located and the staff were very nice and helpful. The parking garage was close and convenient, yet slightly pokey. The room was renovated and the bathroom had a huge tub, which we hadn't expected. We did not book breakfast, so I can't say anything about that.

AustraliaOur room was quiet, except for some noise coming from the door to the neighbouring room which was unlucky.
We had a very comfortable stay. The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel provides free parking nearby if space is available. The location is on the edge of the city centre, so very convenient. The English speaking man on reception was very helpful.

IrelandThe condition of the shower was a disgrace with a grimy and overlong old shower curtain that spread across the base of the shower tray creating a trip hazard. The shower itself was quite small and we opted not to use it. Also sleeping was less than comfortable and overly hot owing to the plastic backed mattress protectors used on the beds.
Good breakfast and very friendly and helpful night porter. Very central location.

FranceI checked-in and was assured that the points for my stay related to my membership of GW's loyalty programme would be automatically transferred, as usual, to my Air Canada Aeroplan account. They weren't. I didn't ask for a printed bill at check-out for environmental reasons. I have twice contacted the hotel by email to send me a pdf receipt in order to claim the miles with AC. I have received no reply to these requests and will be unable to claim missing miles with Aeroplan. Be warned !

CanadaI didn’t like anything, the rooms were awful and strange, it was so hot in the rooms when we arrived and one of them didn’t have a cooling system and the fan wasn’t working. We had to ask for another room because it was so hot. All three of the rooms we had seen were completely different some more rundown than the others. One of the rooms was all the way at the end of the hallway were you had to pass three doors and a creepy stairwell to get in. I wouldn’t recommend this stay to anyone, if you go expecting what you see in the pictures you will be disappointed.
Not much about it was good, besides it’s location.

United KingdomSadly this grand hotel is no longer! now very basic provision. Clean sheets and towels, then low level, cleaning standards e.g dirt around window frame. Good location for the city. The usual frustrations of management economic meanness, no information need to scan the code for advice where there are no instructions how to use tea/ coffee makers, very limited provision 1 tea,1 coffee, 1 cream. no instructions for mobile air conditioning unit, use once paper cups. Hunt the towels hidden in the wardrobe. Toilet door wouldn’t close. No anti-slip mat in shower. Very disappointed. Observation- when we book through Booking.com we always get a minimal room to frustrate the client , therefore, we don’t return to the hotel. This case in point we were allocated a boring on the fire escape. For what reason when occupancy was less than 15%? BW are one of the best at “How to annoy customers so that they don’t come back !!”

United KingdomThis is an old style French city centre hotel with large rooms but in dire need of updating. Even the bathroom which had been modernised was showing wear with the laminate peeling off the cupboard under the sink. The water level n the shower was only lukewarm.
Its location is very good and they have access to an underground car park a few yards away (you need to reserve a place).

United KingdomNo availability of places to eat that were obvious to us in the dark. Found a superb square in the centre - one restaurant open, with a 45 minute wait and a very clearly disinterested head(?!) waiter. "Don't know the area really - can't suggest any where....... We finally found a Sushi restaurant that was charming, hospitable and excellent. No thanks to the Hotel. In 30+ years of travelling all over France (which we adore in spite of the British stupidity of Brexit), I don't think we have ever had such a disappointing stop-over.
No a lot really. Did not live up to what we expected from a Best Western Hotel. It's really a tarted up tired hotel; previously and still promoted as the Hotel Continental by signage at the front and very obviously in the hotel's garage. We had expected a restaurant - there was none! A very pleasant Breakfast room, witha generous and fresh range of products. BUT the lift had an image of Dining Room and Restaurant!! Mis-selling? Should be corrected and on Booking.com's site. Yes it was central, yes parking was free; wi-fi dropped out within minutes. Shower/ toilet very good, but decor pretty uninterested by management and overall broadly old fashioned and TIRED. Had far better experience in Tarbes, a much smaller town.
