Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLaurent was the perfect host and our stay at Camelia was delightful. The location was ideal for accessing the town on foot and it was a fairly easy walk from the train station. The accomodations were very comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water. Laurent ensured that we had super-fresh baked goods to go with a simple but delicious breakfast every morning, including our departure day where he served us breakfast very early in the morning to ensure that we were well fed before our trip. He thoughtfully recommended some excellent restaurants and was cheerful and helpoful throughout our stay.

United KingdomOur stay was superb. If we were to be pernickety, then the only thing to improve it would be some English Breakfast tea (there was a good selection of flavoured teas and Earl Grey), and some coffee pods for the coffee maker in the room. But that is very minor criticism.
We had Omaha Room, which was well decorated and spotlessly clean. The bedroom had two windows and the bathroom had another. The bed was at least king sized and was very comfortable, with good pillows and crisp white linen. There was also a small table and two chairs. The bathroom was well equipped and looked quite new. The shower was excellent. The location was brilliant for many great restaurants, the Bayeux Tapestry and the cathedral. Parking was free on the street. Breakfast was continental style and we even had enough to take some French bread, meat and cheese for our lunch. Laurent, the owner, is a gentleman and a very good host.

United StatesThere are lots of steep stairs which could be a hindrance if there are mobility issues.
Camélia is located on a quiet street just a 2 minute walk to the Bayeux Tapestry museum. It’s a charming BnB, well appointed and the owner, Laurent made it even more charming. What a wonderful, warm person. We would be glad to come back and stay with Laurent again.

FranceWe were not aware of the spiral staircase to get to the bedroom. It was a minor inconvenience but Laurent helped us with our luggage. Perhaps this could be mentioned in the listing.
Laurent was a gracious host and was very helpful during our stay. The house and our room were spotless and very comfortable. Our breakfast was delicious and on time allowing us to get to our scheduled tour in plenty of time.

United StatesThere is no designated parking. It’s street parking, which was one night easy and one night difficult to find. Looking out on the street, though truly charming, also came with the problem that the bar down the street was loud until late at night. The windows were relatively soundproof, but we like to sleep with fresh air and were not able to do this.
The proprietor is very nice and helpful. The room is nicely appointed with good linens, comfortable bed, two sitting chairs with tea kettle, and a really nice bathroom with a full tub, towel heater that worked, and a large sink. The location is charming, as it looks out over the old, narrow city streets. We enjoyed opening our windows to the flower boxes and the fresh air in the morning.

United StatesThe room and bath are small but for us it was not an issue.
The location was perfect for us. Down the street there is a nice bakery and restaurant. We also did several tours and the pick up location is just a few minutes walk as well. The staff is nice and welcomed us at our desired time. The room was clean and comfortable. The fresh flowers were a nice touch.

CyprusMy only regret is that I would have liked to have spent more time in this lovely hotel and also in Bayeux
Very cozy hotel. Beautiful, clean, with very good energy. Very hospitable host. Many thanks for his hospitality. A hotel in the heart of the breathtakingly beautiful city of Bayeux. The room was big enough for a couple. We were staying with a great view of the street. The hotel looks very clean and charming. Nice furniture, plumbing, fresh flowers. Fresh linen, new plumbing. Everything is made with the soul of its owner. Each room has its own name. We had Chambre Gold Beach. The breakfast was very good. Continental. Fresh coffee, croissants, fruits, cheeses. Bayeux Cathedral is just a 2 min by walk from the hotel. The Carpet Museum is just a 1 min walk away. We liked everything in the hotel and in the city.
