Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe bed was a bit soft for me, but that is a personal issue. Perhaps if one had mobility issues the stairs could be difficult- they are small and a tight fit.
Perfect location just a few minutes drive outside of Bayeux. We chose this because of the ease of parking and accessibility to the beaches. A full functioning kitchen was essential— we had our cafe and pain Au chocolate every morning- and sometimes cooked our own meal and enjoyed the quiet countryside

United KingdomFamily room at the top of the house - was very conscious of not wanting to disturb the host family, but tricky with three kids and creaky stairs!
Beautiful house in a lovely, quiet spot. The kids loved the huge garden and garden games (table tennis, swing ball, frisbee, darts) and the shared garden room kitchen was handy to have. Lovely breakfasts with delicious apple juice from a nearby orchard (we went a bought a load we loved it so much! Valerie is super welcoming and a fabulous host. Not far to drive to Bayeux (a town we adored) and within easy reach of all the D-day beaches and attractions.

BelgiumThere is not a single thing I can think about. Valerie is a great host that took care of everything! Perhaps the music at breakfast could be a bit more varied, but we did very much like the tunes that were played :-).
This place is very quietly located, but still very convenient to get to Bayeux (5-10 min) and the landing beaches. The house is an old farm that is beautifully renovated while keeping its charm. We stayed in the big room in the attic, which is spacious even though will filled it with 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 12-10-8). We very much enjoyed the breakfast prepared by the wonderful host Valerie - it was delicious and we got to taste some very original local specialties :-). The place also comes with a well equipped additional shared room where we prepared some food in the evenings. If the weather would have been better, I am sure that we would have very much enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden!

United StatesThis is the most magical property! Every little detail is well thought out, and you can tell Valerie pours her heart and soul into making your experience here very special. Her property is in the country next to the tiny town of Nonant, a quick 10 minute drive to downtown Bayeux. This is a perfect location to make your home base while visiting Normandy. Her breakfasts are amazing, something unheard of in the US consisting of homemade breads and jams and local apple juice. The house is so well decorated and clean. Her property was featured in a magazine. If you want charming with modern amenities, book this place now! We stayed in the Mathilde Suite which was spacious for 5 people.

United KingdomNothing apart from the cockerill who insisted on acting as an alarm at 4am! But that is rural life.
Rural location a short drive from shops and restaurants in Bayeux. We didn’t mind this but it may not suit everyone. We loved the gorgeous bed linen! It is a lovely gite in a very pretty village and we would happily stay here again.

United StatesIts reachable by a taxi in a few short minutes from town, but multiple trips add up. It’s the perfect destination if you have rented a car. This isn’t a dislike, hopefully just helpful information!
loved the location, the property was adorable. The home was clean, and comfortable, and decorated beautifully. Valerie was a fabulous host. Her breakfasts were a feast!

United StatesI loved everything.
this is a very special place. the property is beautiful, comfortable, clean — our room had been beautifully renovated. There is room to relax in the room or out in the yard — there’s even a ping pong table and soccer ball outside for recreation. The hostess is warm and welcoming and helpful. she also served a delicious breakfast — be sure to try her homemade jams with your croissant. and the location is perfect — close to bayeux but not too close, and in a nice small nearby town with its own rich history. I highly recommend this bed n breakfast!

United StatesNothing. we loved everything about it.
It was our first bed and breakfast and boy- it did not disappoint. We stayed in the Mathilda room and it was perfect for my husband and I and two teenage daughters. The room had a reading nook, small living area and a loft for an additional bed. The big surprise was how big the bathroom was and it actually had a shower glass door that closed all the way and not the typical half glass enclosure you see in European bathrooms. Our absolute favorite thing is the breakfast served. Valerie served breakfast in a cute breakfast area. Amazing croissants and French bread from the local bakery, homemade apricot and strawberry jam, local yogurt and of course- coffee. The grounds were amazing too. The gardens were meticulously cared for. Will definitely stay there again if we are ever in the Normandy area.
