Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room in the old wing was a little old fashioned but comfortable neverthless.
Set just outside Millau (a 40 minute walk alomg the side of the Tarn) the hotel is in a lovely old building on a site dating back to 800 AD. Our room was in the old wing with a nice view of the famous viaduct. The restaraunt is in the old cellars had has been nicely renovatead, with a selection of interesting set menus. Staff are very welcoming. Nice local walks from the hotel.

United KingdomAfter driving for 12 hours it was great to arrive at this beautiful hotel. Room was lovely and clean. Bed was comfortable. We were so pleased we booked for dinner. The meal was delicious. The Roquefort ice cream was amazing. Had stayed here quite a few years before and wasn’t disappointed.

United KingdomOnly very slight bugbear was being a ground floor room the bathroom was a wet room (presumably for wheelchair access) . I'm not fond of wet rooms as it means the floor is still wet later when you need to go to the loo! Had to use an extra towel for mopping up, so not very 'green'.
Very comfortable bed and spacious room. We had a ground floor room with its own terrace near the swimming pool. Had a lovely swim despite being a bit cloudy and cool for July, as the pool is heated (not warm exactly but definitely not cold). Such a bonus as swimming pools are rarely heated in France! Loved the architecture, our doorway had a beautiful stone ogee arch. Breakfast was great, sitting outside on a sunny morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely walks nearby. It was a perfect one-night stop for us on the way back to the airport (after a family visit) and next time we will stay two nights to be able to do more of the local walks!

AustraliaMattress uncomfortable. No lift meant carrying suitcases up long flight of stairs to first floor. There was only a hand-held shower in bathroom - not good enough at this price point
Spacious accomodation, very good restaurant in ancient cellar, although limited menu choices. Secure car park. Side view of Millau viaduct. Olde-world chateau with rustic charm in abundance

United KingdomPoor value for money. Restaurant menu was a rather specific type of food with not a lot of choice so we felt compelled to eat out. Shower in bathroom was ridiculous, the shower either using the large overhead or directional head proved impossible to shower properly without soaking the bathroom floor.
No specific bar however it was nice to sit outside in the gardens to have drinks. Off street parking in the shade of trees.

United KingdomRoom was situated next to a stairway & the restaurant, noise from the restaurant & after service tidy up was excessive until just after 11pm. If staying request an upper floor room.
Staff were welcoming & breakfast was good, property is well presented and the pool offers views toward the Viaduc du Millau. Off street parking within property boundary.

United KingdomThe reception was miserable. Most unfriendly place I’ve been to in years. Guests are mad to feel like an inconvenience. Vary annoying that despite asking for a table 24hrs in advance we were not able to have dinner. No apology forthcoming. The decor was terrible. Tasteless downstairs, Ikea in the bedrooms. Our room was tiny. Desperately overpriced. There were notices everywhere telling guests not to steal eg toileteries, towels, excess breakfast.
The view is wonderful, and the gardens pleasant. The bathroom was nice. It was very clean. The cat is friendly. Breakfast was okay, but overpriced.

United KingdomIt was a shame the pool didn't open until 9am so no morning swim was possible. Whilst the food in the restaurant was very nice, the clams were gritty and the whole dish was not particularly warm. Unfortunately we found the bed extremely hard.
Nice location with lovely pool. The room was clean and functional with a nice private terrace close to the pool. The setting of the restaurant was beautiful.
