Great location for us when we were travelling through France to Spain. A lovely old Chateau in a very rural area, great food, large room, friendly staff and a "Dark Sky" when we were there so a magical view of the stars.

Atmosphere. Tranquillity. The elegant simplicity of the owners. Warmed pool open until 9pm. Great breakfast and very tasty dinner in the garden.

The pool was perhaps on the small size when compared with the pictures but nothing else. It was perfect!

The property was a stunning quintessential French chateau with lots of charm and character. The hosts were lovely and were always on hand if we needed them. The food was amazing - a choice of 3 or 4 course. We would definitely return.

This is a fairytale French chateau - we had a wonderful overnight stay. Beautiful rooms and gorgeous views. Such fun in the lovely heated pool. The hosts were so kind and generous and welcoming. Even better than the pictures. Book it today!

Beautiful little castle settled in a wonderful park. Calm surrounding - perfect to relax! Nearby activities such as visit of pitoresque little village Saumur, bike riding, horse riding and/or wine degustation are possible. Dinner at the little restaurant called "Le Baron" was delicious. Sadly we only had one nights stay!! Would have liked to use the lovely pool, and explore the Loire area more if we had time.

Lovely friendly family welcome, and great service. Couldn't be more helpful. Although breakfast wasn't included, it was a wonderful spread. The restaurant meal was superb too.

This place is heavenly and I felt the cares of the day just evaporate. Chateau de la Coutanciere will stay in my memory for ever. You'll find the perfect balance here, a warm welcome coupled with engagement and attentiveness and respect for guests' privacy. We ate breakfast and dinner outside; fresh fruit and French patisserie with meat and cheese and yogurt for breakfast and a delicious three course dinner each evening with local wine. One afternoon we settled by a shady tree at the pool and drank Champagne, our cares evaporating, and the next day we strolled the grounds and headed to the river, finding ducks and moorhens, butterflies and birds, fish and a ... musk rat? Chateau de la Coutanciere is a perfect place to stop and breathe.

Beautiful Chateau, stunning grounds, great swimming pool, huge rooms (our bedroom had a four poster bed, and a big modern bathroom), great views of garden. Hosts were really the best and ensured we had a great time. Wished we'd stayed here on out way to Bordeaux (to stop and savor the temperature and weather of France - it's very close to the amazing Chateau Azay-le-Rideau btw) as well as the return journey.
