We loved it and our kids loved it as well! From the moment we arrived at Chateau Murviel, it was clear we had stumbled upon a gem that beautifully marries history with modern comfort. Nestled atop a hill, the chateau offers breathtaking views that promise to enchant every visitor. The location alone is worth the stay, providing a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life while inviting exploration and appreciation of the surrounding beauty. We had amazing breakfast and conversation with hosts about their and ours travels. Amazing family. Highly recommend. Please be careful when driving - don't get stuck on GPS route - there's a better route with arrows - still narrow, but easier. What truly sets Chateau Murviel apart, however, is the condition of its facilities. It's apparent that great care is taken to maintain the property's integrity, ensuring everything is in excellent working order without detracting from its historic allure. From the well-kept gardens that invite leisurely strolls to the pristine rooms that offer a haven of rest, the attention to detail is commendable. Our stay at Chateau Murviel was nothing short of magical. It provided a unique blend of historical richness and modern luxury, making it a perfect retreat for those looking to immerse themselves in the beauty and history of the region. Whether you're a history buff, a lover of nature, or simply in search of a peaceful getaway, this chateau promises an unforgettable experience. We left with our hearts full and our spirits lifted, already dreaming of our next visit.

I would have liked a more modern bathroom/ shower facilities - however my wife thought the whole experience and room were just perfect!

An amazing place to stay, wonderful setting and experience staying in an ancient castle. With a great host who was both welcoming and provided help with baggage and a great breakfast.

    We loved everything

Madam Jocelyne and her husband were fantastic. They really went the extra mile to ensure all our needs were met, from arrival right through to check out. The chateau itself is absolutely beautiful, pictures simply do not do it justice. We were in awe of how well the couple had restored it. The attention to detail and dedication to ensuring the chateau was sympathetically restored really was admirable. The chateau was also wonderfully decorated, with furniture and artefacts Madam Jocelyne had collected from around the world. Upon arrival we were brought through to the dining area and immediately given cold drinks along with coffee and biscuits (we had just finished a few hours of travelling on a very hot day). I should also point out that the couple refused to allow us to pay for these extras and would not add it to our bill, which was so kind and hospitable of them. Although the chateau was fully booked during our stay we were the only guests booked for breakfast, and were blown away by the wonderful spread that Madam Jocelyne and her husband put on just for us each morning. We were served fresh home made lemon cake, crepes, pastries, fruit, cold meats, large selection of cheeses, coffee, and freshly squeezed orange juice each day. We were also given exception pain perdu on our last morning, which was such a treat. Our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean and the beds were really comfortable. The aircon was also really appreciated in the height of July heat. Breakfast was served in the beautiful courtyard, and we were absolutely delighted to discover the chateau had an amazing play area for kids too. The area was stocked with so many toys that our kids couldn't believe their luck. For us, travelling with small kids, it was such a delight to have this area to occupy the kids on the hot afternoons when we had finished exploring Murviel-lès-Béziers or returned from the beach (Serignan). Overall we loved our stay here, and will definitely return one day.

    Nothing

We had a truly wonderful stay at the chateau. The chateau is perfectly situated to allow you to easily enjoy all facet of the region (mountains, rivers and sea). The chateau has nice rooms and a lovely courtyard that allows you to relax after a whole day of activities. The breakfast I absolutely fantastic: every morning new and a large variety of foods are served. What I liked most of all though were the hosts. They are genuine and very kind people. I really recommend staying there.

It is a medieval village and the castle is on a top. To get there, you need to pass narow streets. A normal car (and a skilled driver) would manage well, but for a wide car that's rather impossible.

If you want to sleep in a medieval castle, updated to modern comfort, that's the place to be . The place and the surroundings have an incredible atmosphere and the hosts are faboulous! Some other cosy spots to be found around, within few km. A place to return.
