Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandDidn’t like electronic menu, out of place at this level ! Tablecloths at dinner please, didn’t like fine dining on marble tops Taking the seat cushions in when it rains would enable guests to make use of the delightful outdoor setting when sun returns instead of having to await dry cushions !
All good, David excellent, very friendly staff, grounds very peaceful

The setting is lovely, our room and bathroom were both spacious, and the staff was super accommodating. Dinner in their restaurant was fabulous, and we also loved the continental breakfast.

The setting and the chateau are both spectacular. The owners and staff couldn't be nicer and the room (Chablis) we had was spacious and nicely decorated - there are 2 bathrooms, one of which is huge. I loved the resident dogs and farm animals. The restaurant deserves it's Michelin Star and the chef is outstanding.

United KingdomOur room was on the small side , but I’ll know to request a larger one next time .
It was small enough to provide high levels of personal attention .The restaurant was excellent , the meals delightful and Chef Thomas went above and beyond to provide us with variety given that we had the gastronomic menu on day 1 , so for day 2 he provided wonderful alternatives . Such customer care is in my opinion exceptional and we were very grateful.

FranceHonestly not much - the only thing I did not like and only for an environmental reason is that they have sugar cubes individually wrapped in plastic I am sure it's just not been thought of and may be part of covid but I would love if this message makes them switch that out
This place is beautiful - the gardens are stunning the Chataue is lovingly cared for by its owners as its been in the Family for a long time. they are kind and polite and helpful 5* service the restaurant is incredible and as a tough customer when it comes to food they were super accommodating to make sure I was able to eat and enjoy the meal as much as my partner who can eat anything! did honestly did not wish to leave - we did not read the book till too late but they do also do picnics so recommend you check that out - they really make you feel special and cared for - we hired some of their bikes and whet for a ride around which was just stunning - I wish I didn't have to leave! the pool in the cave is sooo lovely and they have jets all around it which make for a great massage :-) could not recommend this place enough I hope to come back again soon! Thank you so much to all the staff too who were all super friendly and lovely and a credit to the owners. Also watch out for the beautiful white peacocks

United KingdomI liked it all. It was a little quirky. My husband would have preferred a different beer selection as the two on offer were not to his taste and he normally loves French beer.
The breakfast was delightful and surprising - a lovely concoction of cold ham and local cheeses with a boiled egg, yoghurt, fruit, patisserie. It was presented beautifully, sitting outside on the terrace overlooking the splendid chateau grounds. We had dinner. We had emailed two days before to say that we would not be eating fish owing to an intolerance. That was acknowledged on arrival but the restaurant staff seemed aghast that we would not be eating fish and we agreed to have the crab starter (preferable to foie gras for our taste). The only non fish main course was duck which would not have been our preference if chicken or beef was on the menu. Nevertheless everything we ate was absolutely outstanding even exquisite and we loved every bit - we did not find the portions small as with three courses we were totally satisfied. The grounds are beautiful and it was a real treat to eat and drink outside on the terrace during our stay. The bedrooms were lovely and cool where outside temperatures were in the 30s. Would definitely return.

Their personal customer service was the best! Thanks to Sandra, the restaurant staff and chef and the other gentleman at front, they all provided us with very warm and attentive services. The Michelin rated restaurant food was amazing! We had 7 meals there and we already miss it. The property offers the history and nature. Very peaceful. Picnic by the river with Michelin chefs dishes is a must do!!!

A truly beautiful chateau in a beautiful setting. An extraordinarily beautiful indoor pool. spacious rooms, with authentic decor, comfortable but not overly modernised or too ‘perfect’. Friendly super helpful staff, an owner who was happy to chat and make you feel welcome. Outstanding Resturant.

Fabulous property . One of the nicest we have ever stayed at. Perfect place to relax ,take a walk around the grounds. Chickens ,ducks , geese, beautiful garden. Mid evil tower, walls and river moat. A 400+ year old Elm tree in the center of the lawn. A perfect pool to swim in a cave like structure(wine grotto). Can’t say enough. A must stay if you are in Burgundy.

United KingdomThe room was really average. Large but looked as if it was very old fashioned. The room access was poor, via a steep staircase with a sensor light that did not come on for 10 seconds. And a pervasive smell of chlorine from the pool nearby
