Excellent and delicious breakfast. Scramble eggs and fresh baked bacon. All food was of high quality. A special thanks to Madame Devries for offering a coffee before opening hours, because I arrived too early for breakfast.

Breakfast great, all fresh local produce or home made. Staff all helpful and friendly. The location is quiet, and classic Périgord. Food excellent. A car is needed if you want to explore the area, but otherwise, the hotel offers all amenities, and is very relaxed. If you are a golfer, there are excellent facilities (literally) on the doorstep.

We so enjoyed our stay at chateau Les Merles. It is beautifully furnished with a supper comfortable bed and lovely pool. Also great that they accept dogs too. The food and wine was delicious too.

The tennis courts and golf course could do with a little maintenance.

The staff were welcoming and the hotel is lovely. Air con in the rooms very much appreciated in the hot weather. The area is quiet and peaceful and the restaurant is fantastic.

This may seem unreasonable, but while there was an interesting and different lunch menu offered every day, the menu for dinner remained the same the whole time we were there, so we felt constrained for choices, and as result, went out a couple of times, simply to get variety. On the other hand we thought the wine list excellent.

Excellent service for breakfast. However the scrambled eggs and bacon, while thoughtfully provided, were only of modest quality and the one soft loaf of brown bread could have been better. The room was all in all very good. Very quiet aircon for example. However, we noticed that the bathroom floor did not appear to be cleaned every day, but this was a minor issue.

There was nothing which could have improved our stay.

An extremely large and very comfortable room with wonderful views from the windows. The staff were most welcoming, offering a complimentary drink on arrival. There is an attractive pool with towels provided and a terrace shaded by trees in the grounds. The Chateau has been very tastefully restored, in keeping with its age and with a number of original features retained. The restaurant has a gastronomic menu and our evening meal was delicious and beautifully presented. There was a wide range of choices for breakfast, suitable for all tastes.

Worth stopping at this underrated hotel . Set in the countryside a short drive from Bergerac and the airport . Beautiful old property which has been stylishly renovated . Our room was lovely overlooking the gardens and pool . The staff were welcoming . The restaurant on-site was excellent. Parking on site .

We were very happy with everything

Had dinner at the hotel which was wonderful & we will definitely return. Staff were very friendly & overall a very relaxing evening. Lovely. We don't play golf but would definitely appeal to golfers. Has a tennis court too.
