Very nice rooms.

We had little hot water in our first room so we moved rooms. Had no electricity in wall sockets in bedroom of second room we moved to, so had no wall sockets/ tv and could only to boil kettle in bathroom to make a cup of tea. We were early travellers in the season and felt the hotel had just opened or was preparing for visitors. Jacuzzi bath and shower had not been tested prior to our arrival and black bits of water mold were residue after bath. Came down for drink at bar and all seemed closed. Just felt they were fire fighting rather than up and running. Got the impression we were one of their first visitors of the season.

Charming historic setting. Downstairs very elegant. Staff helpful and charming. Bed was comfortable and sheets nice. We enjoyed jacuzzi bath and shower. Lively atmosphere and easy parking on site.

There were limited facilities as the bar and restaurant were closed. Also no local restaurants were open either on our first night.

NO RESTAURANT. Although on website and your description it details restaurant. THE RESTAURANT HAS BEEN CLOSED SINCE OCTOBER 2022.

Lack of restaurant.

Wonderful chateau styled property which has been great but due to Covid they were very short on bookings therefore they were struggling ,they had closed the restaurant which was a disappointment however the staff were very accommodating and made us bread and cheese.

Huge restaurant space with spectacular view currently (and hopefully, temporarily) not used for diners, except for special events.

Wonderful wide view of surrounding countryside from our beautiful room ; fascinating historical connections with World War One armed services, both British and French; elegant saloon used at breakfast.

Cassel Town we arrived at 7pm only 1 bar and restaurant was open, Hotel bar and restaurant closed.

Family room was booked for three friends, When we got there this was not allowed, we were given a large suite instead, with breakfast, so all was ok

The car park was a little difficult to get to and some distance from the hotel. You could unload your luggage at the front of the hotel in a narrow street which could be quite busy with 2 way traffic. However this is only a small criticism of a very pleasant stay.

Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was unique in its style, decor. The breakfast restaurant had an amazing view across the fields of flanders. The hotel is in an ideal location to explore a lovely town.

Some parts need attention - the outdoor pool hasn't been available for some time. No staff around after 9pm. A nice breakfast, but with an unnecessary supplement for cooked eggs.

Amazing views. A charming hotel furnished in keeping with its character. Almost like sleeping in a museum. Great views even from the roll-top bath.

A lovely property, great staff, and a fantastic location. I didn't have an evening meal so I can't comment of the food other than breakfast, which was lovely.

The dinner was quite disappointing. Pricy and not great. Our meals looked like they'd been sitting under hot lamps for a while before they came to us, skin over the sauce, hard crust on the mash, burnt bits in the topping on my fish. We wish we hadn't bothered with the starters either. We have had much, much better and considerably less expensive meals during our holiday.
