Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Thomas is a great friendly host, and the setting is lovely. His breakfast is well worth having. I would recommend his home to anyone to stay in. The internet reception is very good.

Very professionally produced pictorial guide to the area is a bonus for longer stays. Would definitely recommend it.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing!
A beautiful house in the most peaceful, scenic location. We stayed in The Rose Room, which was more than ample in size, as was the bathroom, which has a wet room. All fully equipped with everything you would need. Everything was spotless and very well presented. Our host Thomas was extremely welcoming and attentive. His advice regarding where to visit, eat and purchase supplies was appreciated. There is a choice of three breakfasts and we chose two from the three and both were delicious. Parking is ample and secure. You can relax in the large garden and admire the stunning views. We absolutely adored our stay here and have planned a return visit already! Chez Thomas is definitely the number one place you should choose if you're looking to stay in the area!

Thomas is a great host who has a wonderful warm approach, he welcomed us and showed us to our room, where there was everything we needed. He asked us for our preference on breakfast gave us a selection to choose from and a time. What a great personal service! This is our 2nd stay here and we will return. We had a wonderful stay, slept well and an amazing breakfast. Location is within easy reach to Caen ferry, St mont michel, bayeux and many other interesting places. The photos of Chez Thomas are all absolutely spot on what we saw on booking.com when reserving is exactly what we had in the room on both occasions. We aim to stay in the poppy room next time !

United KingdomShame about missing breakfast, maybe we'll get later boat next time
Lovely place, slightly off 'beaten track' but means quiet and releaxing location. No noise at night even with windows open. Stayed in 'Rose Room', spacious room with tv, and large wardrobe if staying for a while. Ensuite bathroom great size too, bath, twin basin cabinet and shower, and found the haridresser, nice touch. Thomas has put real effort to make this place homely and welcoming. The farmhouse feel to the breakfast makes you part of the 'household'. Breakfast was lovely, we had one english and one normandie. Its a shame we had to miss breakfast on second morning, early start for ferry. Earliest breakfast time is 8am. Our loss. Thanks Thomas

United KingdomHaving to leave. We had only booked one night as a stopover on our way to the Caen ferry.
The communication, location, tranquility and beauty of the property.. The colourful roses that adorned the front of the building. Thomas (the owner) is so engaging and helpful, we were delayed in arriving due to terrible weather and this was not a problem at all. The welcome we had was warm. We were shown to our room and it was everything we had hoped it would be. Just look at the photos on the main website ... the bed was so comfortable, pillows were amazing, the bath - certainly decadent. Breakfast was in a lovely set dining room, Thomas offers three choices, English breakfast, continental or Norman each served with Tea, Coffee and orange juice. The garden is a beautiful place to sit. We sat and enjoyed a G&T once we had unpacked our overnight bags. Thomas has such attention to detail he is a great host and is keen to ensure all his guests have the best experience. Thankyou Thomas for making our stay so special. We will come again and recommend Chez Thomas at every opportunity !
