Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Really pleasant and helpful staff. We requested a twin room and whilst the beds were comfortable they were somewhat narrow The room was spotless and well maintained. Breakfast was good with several options including both hot and cold options.

United KingdomThe fridge socket made a funny noise, but I reported it and they were grateful to know. The stairs are steep, but they made us get up, have breakfast and go out, so we didn't have to climb to the 5th floor again. There is a small lift. We didn't use it.
The receptionist was very welcoming and knew I had requested gluten free food for breakfast. There were plenty of options. There was a possibility of cross contamination with some options, but there was a big choice so it was easy to find options that were definitely gluten free, including Gf. bread. They had soya milk, I'm not vegan (they did get a bit confused) but the vegan options would have been fresh fruit, dried fruits, nuts, bread and jam, cereal, and fruit juice. Breakfast was on offer from 7.30 till 11 am! We had a lovely little balcony so we could look out over the roof tops of Paris. The room had two comfy single beds, was plenty big enough and had a generous sized bathroom. The ground floor was lovely and cosy, but spacious. Tea, coffee, and lemon water were always available in reception, and my daughter loved the treat of the occasional sweet. They have baggage storage for your last day if needed. It was good value and in a lovely part of the 5th.

SwitzerlandThe lift was a wee bit small, but managable.
The hotel was a pleasant surprise: a little jewel near the Sorbonne that is easily accessible and in a great location near the Boulevard St. Germain, a few blocks to the nearest Metro station and several bus lines. The neighborhood is delightful to stroll and explore, with a variety of shops and cafés nearby, and a 10-minute walk to Boulevard St. Michel, the Musée de Cluny and the Quais of the Seine. The hotel itself is charming, the room was clean and comfortable and had a small fridge which I really appreciated. The staff were friendly, helpful and hospitable. Breakfast is available, but not included in the room price, and there is also a coffee corner in the lobby for guests. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit to Paris. Merci de tout!

United StatesThe lobby could use an update but it was clean with a nice area for snacks and coffee/tea available all day. We had a room with a balcony on the second floor which offered a nice view but it there was some street noise early in the mornings.
Location is perfect! There is a wonderful bakery across the street for lunch and pastries, as well as numerous restaurants and gift shops. A quick walk to the Pantheon and the Sorbonne. 30 minute walk to Notre Dame or the Louvre. Taxis are readily available in the neighborhood . Breakfast included hot items, yogurt, cereal and pastries.

United KingdomI can't find any fault. Beware the lift as it is only big enough for either one person or a suitcase.
The hotel is named after the eminent 19th century physiologist and is conveniently located right next to the Sorbonne university on the Left Bank. Three metro stations, the Boul' Mich and the Cluny museum are close by. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is generous. From the small balcony in our room we could see the towers of Notre Dame. Thoroughly recommended.
