How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The hotel has a modern and impersonal interior which does not give a welcoming atmosphere. The self-service coffee machine used at breakfast was unreliable and only one machine for the number of guests was insufficient.
The Hotel facilities were basic but clean and comfortable. The restaurant décor was rather bland and impersonal but the food and service was very good. It seems to be popular with French travelers as opposed to many hotels near the motorway that have a more international clientele.

The bedroom could have been a little more homely although it had all necessary comforts.
Friendly staff welcomed us and we had a very pleasant stay with a very good meal in their restaurant, also with excellent service.

Perhaps add a fan or central air condition for a hot summer? Because when it is heatwave during summer, you open the window (and next door guests do the same) we are hearing all their conversation, and vice versa I suppose :( Or add a swimming pool?
A convenient hotel for the purpose of our venue to this area. Overall this hotel is exceeding our expectations: Looking new, very clean, quite spacious room and nice shower, comfortable bedding, water boiler/coffee-tea maker, daily bottled-water and looking out to a field/forest in the back yard. Thus it is quiet. Parking is right outside our room. Breakfast with very good croissants, quite a spread and very satisfying for a few euros! The restaurant serves very good french regional/traditional dishes and are beautifully presented. Quality ingredients and desserts with a twist, very surprising (apple crumble with mascarpone and popcorn!!! it was my wife favorite!!). walking distance to Medieval site. Very close to many Abbeys!

No air conditioning or bath in my room when Booking.Com indicated there would be but nice large shower made up for it. Only paper cups in room for making hot drinks - china cups/mugs would've been nicer. Wasps were a nuisance at breakfast - scented candles or fresh thyme/peppermint on tables might've helped.
Location very good, nice large shower, cotton sheets & duvet, plenty of hangers & wardrobe space. Nice restaurant in hotel with friendly staff.

Room was stinky when we arrived, seems like plumbing needs to be fixed. After venting it, it was fine, so. Ground level rooms gardens rooms calls for some separation. Breakfast is very scarce and coffee is terrible (but seems to be same coffee machines all over the France), so not really hotel's fault.
The restaurant was surprisingly good despite the very remote location of the place. The forest nearby is good for walks with the dog in the morning and evening. Ground floor rooms were cool despite the heat.

Greater attention to detail would have revealed that the hairdryer in our room didn't work, and we needed to change the plug for the kettle to the adjoining socket in order to make it work. No other problems.
The hotel is in a quiet location and is well situated for an overnight stay when travelling in France. The restaurant is excellent and there was plenty of variety and choice for breakfast.

Tea making facility had to be transported to the nearest mains socket! Otherwise left on the desk with no connection.

Room felt a little old, door was damaged, some sockets didn't work. The hotel felt understaffed during dining hours. No vegetarian menu in the restaurant, but that seems quite common in France.
Friendly English speaking staff, very welcoming to the dog, nice little area for dog walks directly next to the hotel which we enjoyed very much. The hotel was very accessable and our room was spacious. The door was on the outside, right across the parking. Ideal for our situation (traveling with big dog)! The village is cute.

The plumbing was very noisy, especially the toilet. It made filling noises independent of whether it was being used or not.
The location is dog-friendly, with trails and woods directly behind the hotel.
