The hotel was well-located in a very quaint community which was ideal for us. Stephan and his team did a remarkable job in making us feel like we were at home. The breakfasts were well appointed with options to eat inside or outside. Over-all we enjoyed excellent value for our money and we will be back next year.

Just gorgeous. So quintessentially Avignon without the drama of being in the walled city itself. Pretty, staff very helpful and the courtyard is lovely after a day of touring. Loved our stay. Thoroughly recommend.

Impossible to improve perfection

There was a beautiful,l assortment of fresh products, juices, fruit bread crossants….the list is enormous. The coffee is delicious and they will make espresso drinks. Really 5 stars.

We had a comfort double room, which really was quite small and needed decorating. As far as we could tell the more expensive rooms were much nicer.

Really nothing to add - a pleasant surprise all around.

An unexpected surprise - the place was a true hidden gem. We didn't know what to expect, and this place exceeded our expectations in every way imaginable. Historic building (that was initially a cardinal's residence or something like that), charming decorations but very modern amenities, great breakfast, and superb location in the middle of old town.

Nothing to do with the hotel but a warning for drivers. We arrived on the other side of Avignon at rush hour. Queues of traffic four lanes going into one across the bridge. Every body in a hurry. Took us half an hour to do a kilometre. If we had gone round Avignon and approached it from the other side we would have missed all that. Don't always do what the Sat Nav says!

The Hotel De L'Atelier is in a very old beautiful building which has been very thoughtfully restored with close attention to detail. Our room was perfect. Ultra clean, very good shower room, comfy beds and good Air con. We also had a great view over the hotel's terrace. Staff could not have been more helpful. Our receptionist was British and explained about the history of the hotel. The hotel is in a old central part of Villeneuve and once you negotiated the very narrow streets we were given a map ( although only 2 mins away) of where secure parking was. We intend to have a city break here in the future as the the main town of Avignon is only 20 mins walk away.

Loved everything.

As other reviewers have noted, hotel de ‘atelier is exceptional. The owners were wonderfully helpful and engaging, the hotel and rooms are a beautiful look back in time, we didn’t want to leave, and will be back!
