How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Looks a bit tatty from the outside but a gem inside. Some may be daunted by the many flights of stairs.
Typically Parisian small hotel with winding staircase and tiny rooms but lots of character and convenient for Gare de Lyon. Located on a delightful square (Rond-Point de General Bourgoin) with excellent range of French restaurants and a boulangerie. Very friendly helpful staff. Happy to look after baggage both before and after your stay.

The room I stayed in has windows directly on the street, and is located on floor level. Not a major problem for me, but travellers who prefer privacy might be happier with a different setup.
Remarkable location within Paris, close to Bastille and ideally located on the metro line 1 (connection to les Halles, 11th and 20th arrondissements, grands boulevards). Comfortable room in a lively neighbourhood - it might not be for you if you're after an extra-quiet accommodation.

The sleeping room is very small (but the bathroom is normal size for a citizen hotel). The room in not much sound insulated and sometimes you can listen a voice in the corridor or in the room next door. But still it's not a big problem, you'll sleep well (especially after an hard day of working in Paris!).
The structure has been gently available to our (online) request to have a room with balcony. The position of the structure is very good, very well connected to the yellow underground line (the most touristic one) with the Reuilly – Diderot station. We never tried the hotel's breakfast, but across the road there is a good boulangerie (Maison Landemaine Crozatier) and some others café and restaurants for every kind of meal.

We would have loved a kettle and tea/coffee in the room, but we know this may be an Australian expectation and not common in Europe.
Clean, quiet, good location, enough space to be comfortable. Good nearby restaurants. Friendly staff. Modern breakfast facilities and a nice continental buffet were a welcome surprise.

The room is a little small but manageable
The property is located very close to a metro station that goes through all major tourist attractions. The staff was very kind and helpful.

Very Nice People working there! Rooms are small but just Great for a Long Weekend - close to Metro 1 - coffees near . Clean - for very Tall People the bed could be to Short . But bed is comfortable. We can recommend the place

The pillow might be better and there are sounds from another room
It is a good location, close to the train station - within walkable distance, a room with a nice small balcony, and a few restaurants just on the corner. A small grocery shop is also near. The street was quiet at night

We chose this location as we needed to take a train from Gare de Lyon at 7.30am. The room and bathroom were very clean and the location to Gare de Lyon was great, around a 8-10min walk with luggage - a small room but enough for 2 people.

Very clean and comfortable for our two night break. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. The location was quiet with good restaurants nearby as well as an Intermarche which was useful. The Metro station was nearby which was very convenient and on the best line to take us to all the main Paris sights.

The lift and the corridor is a bit small but it still fits big luggage.
It’s worth the price. The location is great. The staff is nice.

This was my second time staying here and it was just as good as the first. Staff are exceptionally friendly, rooms are clean, and location is very central. Would highly recommend.

My anorak was stolen. I hung my anorak to dry on the door of the corridor on the evening of 2nd March at approx 7pm. The coat was still there when I went down to breakfast on 3rd March at 7am, however when I went back downstairs it had gone. I informed the receptionist and asked if anyone had handed it in, however no one had. I requested that they look at the CCTV however they have not responded to me. I have left my email address. I am very disappointed that my coat was stolen.
