our room was a standard double room ( they kindly amended to a twin as requested ) room was quite small and a squeeze to get to the window we asked for a room with the view over the streets- just be aware that this can be quite loud with weekend fun - didn't spoil our trip at all

Breakfast was quite expensive for a limited selection of meats, cheeses and pastries. There was the option of a boiled egg if you wanted something hot. There was no view from our room, just a wall outside.

The room was small but comfortable and very quiet. There were plenty of convenient plug sockets. Reception staff were very helpful and accommodating. Shower pressure was excellent. The old town and Presqu'ile were within 10 minutes walk, very convenient.

The room we had was small. Very limited as to where to put our suitcases and clothes. Still, it had all we needed.

The hotel was idealy located close to everything you need such as restaurants, bars and places of interest. The staff were excellent. The rooms were very clean and were well maintained everyday.

Room 23, size is tiny, to the point that to access the window side of your bed you have to crab sideways along the foot and side of the bed. Nicely appointed with some character furniture, the shower room was a good size with new/modern fittings. All very clean, apart from main room light above the bed. If it is a concern state on booking, becasue there are standard doubles that are no issue size wise on same floor.

The Hotel is in a superb location in 2nd arrondissement, easy walking distance to Bellacour metro, shops and eating options. From the room window you have a lovely view of the Theatre and up to Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière in Vieux Lyon...

Excellent location in the centre of the city, 2 min walk from the Place Bellcour and all the attractions of the city centre - parking under the place Bellcour if required - only very busy street parking near the hotel itself. Old building with very narrow staircase (reasonable sized lift is available). Good continental breakfast with the possibility to boil eggs. Very friendly and accommodating staff, modernised rooms with comfortable bed (and pillows!) and modern well-equipped bathroom. Overall very good experience.

Very centrally located. There was always staff available and they answered questions. Looking out from the window we could see nice buildings. Plenty of good restaurants around, close to a world class museum.

Hôtel des Célestins was exactly as we hoped – clean, comfortable, friendly and full of character. The staff could not have been more helpful or more accommodating and the location was perfect, just a few minutes’ walk from Bellecour Metro station and its easy access to the airport. We had a fantastic view of the nearby Théâtre des Célestins, as well as the famous Basilica of Notre Dame of Fourvière, perched on its hilltop above the city. Breakfast was very good and the coffee excellent.

We were very happy here in the style of an older era. It is not slick in a modern sense, but it was just what we were looking for.

The hotel is classic old French style in a great location. The receptionist, Marjorie, was wonderfully helpful, providing an orientation via maps, recommendations and held with dinner reservations. She also helped download train tickets after an email SNAFU. The owner was also engaging, a world traveler and photographer - we traded tales. Our room was small, but adequate. The AC was very welcome in Lyon in August. The breakfast included was quite sufficient, though not extensive. The location is just across the river from the old city, near the funicular to the hilltop basilica and Roman theaters, and a short walk from the beau arts museum.

The room was not quite large enough for the bed. One side of the bed was very close to the wall leaving little room to get out.

Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Offered to allow us to leave our luggage there at the end of our stay. Breakfast very good and varied.
