Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom not overly big but fine for a night or two. Shower could do with more power/updating.
Wonderful old building which has been sensitively updated. Comfortable bed and great staff who made us very welcome. Lovely evening meal shared with 4 others. Breakfast was also very good.

United KingdomWe were very tired when we arrived as a result of a delayed overnight sailing and opted to have dinner. I think it should be made plain to guests that they will be expected to share a table with their fellow guests if they choose this option.
It was a beautifully converted, mainly 18c property , our room was a little small, as was the en-suite but very comfortable.

United KingdomThe toilet in our room was in a tiny room, my husband’s knees were touching the door!
Lovely old house with traditional furniture, it felt as if we were staying in someone’s home. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We had forgotten to pre book a wine tasting but managed to get a space for that afternoon. Meals were served in the family dining room, and everyone shares tables. Supper is a fixed four course menu, we found the food delicious and very good value. You serve yourself drinks from an honesty bar. There was a good selection of different foods for the buffet breakfast. We enjoyed an evening stroll around the quiet small village.

IrelandIt's very traditional, lots of religious pictures etc. We had the meal as there is no where to eat close by. It is served at a communal table and you share. This wasn't for me, although I understand some may enjoy this. Food was really average, no choice and served by two lads who were about 16. No air con in rooms. Fan was provided but was extremely loud. Not the cleanest. No wine tasting available. Breakfast was the same, at a communal table in a back room even though there were other tables. Very basic breakfast.
Good location off motorway for pit stop but very remote

LuxembourgWhat I missed from our first visit some years ago and why I wanted to do a repeat. This was all about staying at a wine domaine for dinner, bed and breakfast and getting to know the producers and learning about their products. Thanks to Booking, we have had several delightful stopovers as we motor between our home in Luxembourg and the holiday home on the west coast of France, including Borgnat. When we came last time, the wine-tasting moved on to a traditional-course Burgundian dinner. Each course was introduced by the chef and was accompanied by the appropriate Borgnat wine. This was great as a 2nd tasting with the right food and the chance to talk about it. This time we had 2 separate experiences: 1) Arrival at a wine domaine and a tasting. 2) Dinner, bed and breakfast next door which was fine but you had no idea you were in a wine domaine. Dinner itself was ok but the presentation was poor. We were sat in a very small room which was only just big enough to have a table for 6. The food was then "served", aka delivered and placed silently in bulk at the end of the table as the waitress could not get round the table. So, we (my wife and I and 2 other couples) had to serve ourselves and pass the food around. We weren't even offered any wine...........................................
1) Great location. 2)Comfy traditional room with kitchenette. Good anyway but would be great if using it as a base for a few days of local exploring. 3) The wine and crémant: I love the the full range

United KingdomBooked it as we thought we could have dinner there, but on arrival, we were told it was too late even though it was 3 pm. Paid 80 euros to go into town and back for dinner in a taxi! Also, although the wine tasting was great, we only heard about it from another guest. The hotel never informed us that we could do it. So more information would be great. So contact the hotel before you go to book dinner and wine tasting.

United KingdomThe pool facilities are in need of renovation as they are being used as a store room, but that was a very minor issue.
Fantastic stylish old buildings, well maintained and full of character. Friendly, helpful staff. The tour of the wine cellars and the tasting afterwards was interesting and great fun. We stocked up with several cases. Enjoyed a beautiful regional evening meal, very reasonably priced with the opportunity to try several of the domains own wines. Overall a fabulous 3 days of our French tour
