No elevator for mobility impaired :( but the staff was extremely helpful to assist my mom up the stairs.

Charming and unique hotel nestled by a lake in Charente region. Stunning views from the restaurant. As if in Tuscany! I came here with my mom after a long road trip. Very restorative stay.

We would have liked some of the food and drink to have slightly stronger flavours, though this is possibly a personal preference.

Superb lakeside location, very peaceful, in ancient property with fascinating history. Terrace overlooking lake for dinner would be hard to better. High quality, well presented haute cuisine.

Impossible to find due to published address not recognised by satnav. After an hour driving round in circles, phoned owner who gave a completely different street name. Found it before dark. If after dark, don't know where we would have landed up.

The shower was rather old fashioned but, in context, not a great issue.

Fantastic location, we had a room with a view over the lake. The staff were very friendly and relaxed. The food was excellent. It was our Golden Wedding and they gave us a cake as a celebration! Highly recommended.

The location is beautiful however our stay was not I feel all that it could have been as the restaurant and bar were both closed. We were informed of the restaurant being closed beforehand and we were booked into a local restaurant a couple of miles away which was very pleasant. The bedroom was very large and clean but not especially comfortable given the price. Staff were friendly and I am sure had more facilities been open it would have been an excellent place to stay.

The peace and quiet. A beautiful unforgettable place. The lake and the boats that you can use as a guest. A perfect personalised welcome ... even for our dogs. A great pool, tennis courts and a divine restaurant. Not to be missed. we love this hotel

There was nothing not to like from start to finish.

During the booking process we were offered to have dinner in our room via room service as we didn't have a pass sanitaire. The room (Junior Suite) overlooked the lake. The service was impeccable, 5 courses served like we were in a restaurant. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The grounds are lovely, with a very nice pool and tennis and petanque courts. Very peaceful and comfortable large bed. Thank you everyone you made my birthday very special 😊

there is clearly no management that feels responsible at this place. all staff takes it easy, is helpful but chaotic and unorganized when the breakfast is finished (fro which you need to announce timing and wishes the day before !) they bring you the eggs etc same at dinner, chaos, at a Michelin star restaurant on a table of two, the staff should know whom ordered what. light bulbs in the bathroom all broken, I replaced one myself to fix it etc etc

It all looked a bit tired. Never seen a ladder used as a towel rail. Having a shower meant standing in the bath and using a handset.
