Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germany1. No elevator , so people with heavy luggage beware , you might have to climb 3-4 floors. 2. There was a surge of mosquitoes in the evening ( maybe it was because of spring and warm weather ) but it was very uncomfortable.
The location is great ! Close to everything you need - Tourist places, Old city, Eateries !

Colombiathe hotel doesn’t have an elevator be aware of that, because you need to climb up three floors with your luggage by stairs just to arrive to the reception. also there is not reception 24/7 so you need a code to enter to the building otherwise you will be waiting on the street until 7-8am
pretty nice view of the theater, and good location.

The location is great! If you are with luggages it is going to be horrible, there are a lot of stairs, so if that is an issue for you, take this into account. We did meet just one member of staff, who was helpful and when leaving there was even no one, however, on stairs we met one guy who helped us with luggages, so in case you are reading, thank you! :) Location is great, rooms are clean, the only bad thing is that there is no elevator.

Super central location - close to everything from shopping to food to places of interests. Everywhere is within walking distance. Nice neighbourhood and good ambience. Easy access to train station by bus/taxi. Great view of the Theatre outside of the window. Great hospitality and customer service.

United KingdomNo lift, so if you're on their second floor, that's 4 floors to "climb" and when you have a big luggage, it's not the best experience.
The staff, the location, the room was big.

CanadaSo many stairs... the pillows where horrible. The shower sprayed the whole bathroom. Water everywhere. .. I had to ask for sheets for my bed as they didn't have any on the bed when I arrived. And the floor was dirty in bathroom had hair on it..Not sure how great the cleaning staff are. .. The evening desk person was so lovey and helped me carry my stuff up to the room... No elevator
The view to the town square and the Theatre was beautiful.. A big room. very close to the old part of town.. near the bridge.. so location was excellent... THE evening staff lady was so helpful.

United KingdomMy room had probably been an unused part of a corridor in a former life, they added a door and suddenly it's a teeny weeny single room but it wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't so bland/grim/ugly. It's need a bit of refurbishment and could be more enjoyable to stay in if it was funky/quirky/artistic/anything other than brown. Everything could be heard from the corridor. I managed to see a few other rooms which were actually lovely compared to mine.
The hotel was in an excellent location. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Bed was comfortable once I was given an extra pillow as asked.

United StatesTaxi couldn’t take us to the front door due to construction on Rue Savoire, so we had to walk to the hotel. Then FORTY steps, F-O-R-T-Y, with luggage, just to get to reception and then another TWO FLIGHTS to our rooms. It was exhausting.

United KingdomThe shower was difficult to control. One of the things that is really annoying is standing in a shower trying to get the water to come out of the right bit and trying to get it to the correct temperature. It's a basic where so many hotels fail. The building is very old and the floor was sloping. In bed we felt like we were going to slide out of it. In the end we turned the bed linen and pillows around and slept opposite to the way intended so blood wasn't continually rushing to our heads. There was a peculiar and dangerous piece of wood across the door threshold which was a constant trip hazard. I couldn't see a reason for it but it was very annoying and I tripped over it twice. I think it is fair to say that the advertising picture for this hotel is very misleading. The main image is of the old theatre. The hotel is not there. The hotel is down a dark, dingy side street, nearby, with a very modest entrance that at night can be easily overlooked. The hotel is up several flights of narrow stairs which are also not featured in the description per-se. It is only when you have booked that you discover you will have to walk up about five flights to your room with all your heavy bags. The hotel basically isn't suitable for anyone with mobility issues or not strong enough to carry their luggage up many steps.
The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was clean but very small. The staff were very helpful allowing us access after hours as we were terribly delayed. They were also helpful in explaining how to get a bus back to the station. There is no air conditioning at the hotel but due to the heatwave two electric fans had been provided which were very welcome. The windows were large and did actually open, which was also good to a point. There is a day nursery opposite and the sound of babies crying drifted up to us early in the morning and through the open windows. We did not therefore need an alarm clock.

IndonesiaWe did not expect too much from a budget hotel like hotel du théatre, but the bed was terrible and the hotel overall very old and shabby. I feel like the least you should be able to expect from a hotel that will still cost you more than €100 per night is a decent bed…
