How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room was not super biig, but more than okay for one person.
Very friendly staff, great breakfast. Good location for discovering Paris, if you want to avoid staying in the city. Very green sourroundings, not noisy.

There was damage on the floor and baseboards when we got in the room.
It was a nice walk to the château.

There was no full closure in the shower; therefore, the floor in the bathroom was super wet afterwards, which in winter with cold metal windows was not nice.
The hotel located in a calm area near the park. Nice interiors. Good staff.

they could not provide gluten free bread
ability to close the blinds totally so the room is dark very nice shower room is quiet bed is comfortable nice buffet breakfast i walked up to there in the fresh morning and back at night (very steep :-) ) that was super nice. the view is really stunning, nice castle and church around. Pyramides are 30 minutes away by foot, so no need to use the car and find a parking spot. parking is right in front of the hotel

A small gripe was trying to wheel suitcase to hotel with stoned path out front.
It was a lovely hotel in a tree lined area. Good location just outside of main part of town. Great room, great service.

Person at reception repeatedly refused to print out invoice for my stay because it was booked via booking.com and instructed me to ask booking for the document. After my 4th (!) request he did it, but no explanation or apologize at all.
Location - 10 minutes walk to centre, train station. Good aircondition. Basic but good breakfast, clean room.

Breakfast is overpriced and they charged me a a credit card card fee of €1.50 which was not explicitly mentioned during the bookig process.
Very close to the center and the castle of Saint-Germain-en-Laye.

The room we was given was in another building at the other end of the garden. The path to it was not very even and it was not well lit at night.
The breakfasts were excellent - big spread with some unusual options. The entrance areas are classy.

As a vegetarian, I didn't have a great choice of food for dinner. I ordered a fresh vegetable salad, but they brought me a mix of canned vegetables.
The hotel was in a quiet location. The room was clean. The bathroom was with bathtub.

The hotel said it was pet friendly yet I was charged an additional fee for my pet. The parking was not easy and I bashed my car on the concrete bollards outside.
I didn’t have breakfast. The location was perfect for me and I was happily surprised by the hotel and the welcoming staff.

The staff tried to over charge us for extra local taxes which came to 75 euros. We had to complain to get a refund.

Room was very tired and in need of refurbishment. Bathroom walls and ceiling had black mould growing. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, room fell very short of expectations. Restaurant on the one evening was terrible, food took over an hour to arrive and was just off so sent it back.

Many things were not functioning in the room, which should not happen for a room price of 150 euro-ish. The coffee machine smashed my 3 coffee pods. The hand shower did not have pressure and not hot water (there is a ceiling shower which worked). Damp and stuffy smell in the room as I arrived. I had booked two rooms, one for a friend. Reception made this two join rooms with opened doors thinking it was a family. This made the room less quiet as a door has no isolation.
Convenient for my location and clean. I was apparently upgraded.

Some humidity stains in the bathroom should be removed, the elevator not functioning while we were there,...
Small room (although we had a superior room) , TV hanging on the "wrong" wall thus on the side (and not in front) of the bed with no possibility to move it.

TV did not work in the room and they were unable to fox it during my three night stay. Not even an apology or acknowledgment regarding this when I left.

Having the feeling of being ripped off.. Lacking in professionalism. Cool ie fresh - atmosfear. Room given was disgusting, in an annex building. I had to ask for a change into the main building. New room ok clean but facilities sparce and everything was plastic. Cheap. and No hot water. Breakfast; not good. price vers quality very expensive. Dinner in resturant; Very poor again price vers quality very poor. Ambience and service lacking.
