We had a wonderful stay at Vanessa’s B&B. Great location, beautiful house/room. The place was sparkling clean and you can see the great efforts and thoughts Vanessa has put in to make this B&B amazing. The sauna and spa were fantastic! Vanessa was a wonderful host. We had an amazing time in La Rochelle. Will definitely come back again!

Although the room was large, it is quite enclosed because it faces the street, and opening the windows is not pleasant.

Without a doubt, the hostess Vanessa, was friendly, kind, and helpful. The house was very nice, the room was spacious, clean, and well decorated. The spa was quite cozy and intimate The breakfast was very good and healthy.

Everything was incredible ☺️ In particular the location was perfect and the parking included with our room was a huge bonus as was the sauna ☺️ Vanessa was a fabulous host and the property had been decorated and furnished to the highest spec would definitely stay again

A beautiful house, very tastefully renovated. Vanessa the owner and our host was charming and super helpful. Her enthusiasm and pride in her home is infectious. We had a delightful, comfortable stay here. Location is superb. If you have time, a day trip to Il de Re is well worth it too!! A lovely start to our holiday. Thank you!!

Really, teeny tiny comment: we were in the downstairs room facing the main road. Ordinarily this wouldn’t have been a problem but with 30c heat, if you opened the window to get some air in, the traffic noise would prevent sleeping. We mentioned this to Vanessa who immediately provided a fan.

Everything - attention to detail, Vanessa, location, the garden, the cat that chooses to hang out in the garden, the breakfast, the room.

Amazing property renovated with great taste for design, the charm was kept and at the same time modern convenience was created. The atmosphere is very home-like and the hostess deserves a special hurray for friendliness, helpfulness, and being a super nice and interesting person. The room was spacious with a lot of daylight and all the conveniences. The Nordic bath is an amazing experience, especially in those days that aren't super hot, which can happen on the west coast. Great breakfast with a few interesting healthy specials like energy juices and spiced overnight oats! Location is great, very close to the old market, one of the city's clusters of great restaurants, walking distance to the harbor and the park.

A few things that make Escale Rochelaise stand out from other b&b's I've been to: 1: The wonderful host with her kind and beautiful family, who'll make you feel at ease and will help you on your way to discover La Rochelle; 2: The amazing garden, which felt like a true oasis after a busy day of exploring; 3: The attention to detail, whether it was breakfast, the decor of the rooms or the spotless clean bathroom; 4: The convenience of having a perfectly bilingual host.

That we couldn't stay longer!

Vanessa's hospitality, friendliness and information supplied before and during our stay. The accommodation is absolutely amazing and we were made to feel very much at home and were able to relax and enjoy our stay which is often difficult in a B&B.. Our suite was absolutely fantastic, modern, clean and oh so comfortable!! Breakfast is pleasurable with homemade yoghurt and an array of breads, pastries, jams and fruits. Vanessa's always on hand to chat about the area or to advise on any local questions. A really nice touch is the ability to make tea and coffee whenever you wish, this is lacking in so many B&B's. We would not hesitate to both recommend to others or to return ourselves if ever in the area again. Thank you Vanessa for making our stay in La Rochelle a very pleasant one and beyond our expectations.
