Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location is fantastic, being able to sit outside your room in the evening sun is wonderful. The breakfast is great & really sets you up for the day. The food & drink (particularly Chris' beer!) in the bar/restaurant is fab and James & Chris (& Ben of course) are fantastic hosts! We'll be back!

United KingdomWe stayed during the hottest day of the year, and I missed air conditioning. But this is a very very small issue.
We stayed for 2 nights due to business. It is the most beautiful location, with the most delightful owners, who were always around to help with anything we needed. The restaurant within the hotel is fabulous, and the homemade breakfast is just another level of yumminess !

AustraliaThe guys were great hosts - very friendly and helpful. The location is fabulous - right by the river. It's very handy to use the lounge area upstairs by the restaurant to while away the afternoon. It was nice being able to look out over the garden. It's only a couple of minutes' walk to town and there's a large supermarket.

United KingdomThe road alongside the building is a bit noisy, but this is not a problem for the accommodation rooms as they are on the other side.
Our hosts were lovely and very welcoming. Our room had been very recently renovated to a very good standard. The bed was comfortable. The accommodation is very peaceful and is right on the Dordogne river at a location where swimming in the river is a pleasure. Hiking in the area is very pleasant. The accommodation is part of a brewery and their beer is excellent. It also has a very nice restaurant which is very popular with the British and the French in the area.

Australiaroom has one window and as we were staying right in summer and in the room right at the top of the stairs, we had no choice but to keep the window closed which resulted in a very hot room. We opened the window early hours of the morning but were then subject to passers by looking in and the noise they made. Perhaps a fan in the room might be beneficial?

United KingdomNo restaurant despite summary on booking.com indicating a restaurant on site which was only closed on Mondays. We arrived late on Sunday aiming to eat on site then struggled to find anywhere to eat as local restaurant fully booked. Basic room with only one bedside table. Single bed provided for an adult in the party (known in advance) but with a mattress only fit for a small child.

United KingdomThe only thing missing from the property was the ability to make tea or coffee in our room. This is probably a very British request whilst the target market is French.
Location is phenomenal, exceptional hosts, wonderfully clean and such a well organised room. The rooms are east facing and so remarkably cool in hot weather.

ParaguayThe suite was a bit disappointing in so far that the second bedroom was really a children's room, but you had to walk through it to reach the other room and it was obviously built in a former deposit. The wifi was shaky.
Beautifully located hotel directly on the Dordogne river with a restaurant overlooking the river and a beach in front of the garden. Very friendly staff. The bedroom and bathroom of our suite were very comfortable.

United KingdomSadly we booked thinking that the bar would be open so we would have meal/drink options available to us during our stay. This could have been communicated to us better. Would have liked a kettle in the room , especially with the bar closed.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing.
The main attraction for this property is the staff - Chris and James are fantastic hosts who went out of their way to make sure our short stay was as fabulous as possible. Their attention to detail was superb, from the moment we arrived to our departure. The restaurant area is lovely, especially the covered terrace area overlooking the Dordogne river. Food was excellent - great portions and value for money. They even brew their own beer on the premises (tried two, both delicious)! The room was very spacious, super clean and extremely comfortable bed & pillows and the Wi-Fi was excellent. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
