Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt needs gutting and redecorating. Doors are literally pieces of plain plywood, not even painted! Walls are so thin you can hear everything from every room. Hairdryer was damaged and just dangling down…I didn’t dare touch it in case I got a shock! The corridor lights were on a timer so in the evening it got terrifying for my 89yo mum when walking to her room and the lights automatically switched off. It was quite some distance in the dark to find a switch to press on. Internet was intermittent so checking in took at least 20 mins. Only one member of staff to greet us so the bar wasn’t open when we arrived at 9:30pm. The restaurant looked tired so we chose not to eat breakfast and that proved to be the right decision as the choice was basic and unimpressive considering the hotel was full. We were then charged city taxes when our confirmation clearly stated we had paid them!! Definitely overpriced for what we received. My husband was ready to walk out and sleep in the car and that was before we opened our room door; it was not made at all. Credit to the cleaners as they changed and cleaned the room very quickly for us. However, my husband was beyond annoyed so it made our stayed very unrelaxing. To be fair to the manager/ owner, he had just taken over 4 months previously so knew he had a lot of work to do and was very accommodating when Mum had a few issues.
Definitely the location on a river with the majestic Eiffel viaduct towering above. Free parking. Ensuite facilities. There was a lift. When this hotel is refurbished it will be a gem.

FranceHotel is in need of refreshing /repair. Our room had a non functional fridge and wardrobe that was broken and held up by the door. The shower room has a folding plastic door, which limits privacy:(
Excellent location. Very Quiet. Swimming pool was a welcome bonus on a hot day. Plenty of parking. Accepted our pet dog. The sheets, towels and mattresses were good quality. Chatting with the new owners they recognise they have a significant work list BUT we would support their efforts.

United KingdomOn set of the Shining. Construction site. No access to staff othercouples wandering about. No answer to phone. Mad French woman shouting at foot of our bed for our passports in middle of night. On leaving confronted by said mad person asking about the room. No apology from her. Might have been on medication. No idea who she was. The worst ever stay. Bit old at 70 to have woman breaking into our room. Don’t stay here ever

FranceThis hotel is engaged in transition period after 3 years of closing down. The new management is driving an experience of providing digital services instead of human help . For example , food ( hot and diversified ) is available 24/24 This is an answer for challenging the fast increasing cost of services and the shortage of staff in a remote area As result , it is expected to decrease prices ( by 10%) for a room and to attract a low budget category of customers. The manager is enthusiastically driving operations according to this new business model Let see the answer from customers after some time The very strong point of this facility remains its location along the Truyere river and facing the Garabit viaduc , built by Eiffel. Very scenic landscape

United KingdomWe did not like being sent to a room that we had not booked. The receptionist was not available & unable to be found, when we came back down to have our room changed. Thankfully, the barman, who had previously worked at the hotel under the previous owner was able to help us. There were two choices for the dinner given to us for dinner, both of which were not really edible & very poor value for the 25 Euros they charged. We were told by the same receptionist that "this is not a restaurant" despite having a display board outside the hotel saying they have a restaurant!
This hotel has only one thing going for it, the views are beautiful. The hotel was closed for 2 years, due the death of previous owner. When we used to book this hotel, we did think it could do with some extensive refurbishment, however, service and the food was very good. It is now under new ownership who have done nothing to improve this hotel in any way. The receptionist (who we understand was the daughter of one of the owners) was disinterested and had no idea which rooms had balconies, so she shoved a room key over to us and then disappeared.

United KingdomHad to ask for pillow slips for our pillows and for the wardrobe to be cleared of assorted bedding etc. Whole hotel needs to be refurbished. No mosquito netting at the windows. Rather chaotically organised, but quite acceptable buffet evening meal.

United KingdomNo air con or fans so it was exceptionally hot. The room was dirty with a baby bottle under one of the beds. There was a small fridge in the room which was plugged in but didn’t work. They did offer food but it was a set menu of melon starter, mussels main & ice cream dessert for 25€ which seemed expensive considering there’s no choice and I wasn’t sure if I’d get food poisoning based on cleanliness elsewhere. the whole hotel & rooms were very dated. Tiles loose on pool so our little boy cut his foot quite badly too

NetherlandsWe thought it was a desolate old lot! No hospitable reception! Dirty rooms and the promised bath was missing. The promised restaurant turned out to be closed, you could only use vending machines. There was so much construction rubbish at the pool and a large German Shepherd was walking around. All in all, this gave such an unsafe feeling that we have indicated not to use this hotel. We are still waiting for a response to refund the money paid.
