Bunkbeds (was this the only room) were noisy. Meeting the host at 19.00 means eating very late (for Dutchies).

Kitchen, breakfast. Self check-in is possible all the time.

This is an inn for pilgrims starting Camino Francés to Santiago de Compostela. There are communal bathrooms on the first floor only. It would reduce the noise made by guests if there was at least one bathroom on each floor.

    The staff was very friendly.

The breakfast could have been better.

Location was excellent. Also, the facilities were good for a hostel. The beds are not that stable and comfortable.

Confusing information about breakfast so several of us missed it

The location is great and the mixed dorm accommodation is ok nothing exceptional I left something behind and Lydie graciously arranged to have it sent to my next stop. I Really appreciated that!!!

This can’t be helped, but it’s next to a busy road so there’s a lot of road noise, and being an old building it’s not soundproofed. But don’t let this stop you from booking here - it was the best value private room in SJPDP!

The hospitaleros were fantastic. I liked that the location was close to a number of restaurants and Lidls supermarket. It’s a cool big building. The breakfast was well worth the 6€. Fantastic value private room. Nice lounge and dining room where pilgrims hung out in the evening.

    Nothing comes to mind.

This Gite has a lot of character and over the years many international pilgrims of the Frances Camino have gathered here to cross into Spain on the route Napoleon. The operators are friendly, efficient and offer kitchen privileges and an early breakfast to send the pilgrims off prepared.

The beds were SO SQUEAKY!! Like, loud enough to waken us up during the night, meaning we didn't get a great night's sleep.

Friendly owners - picked us up at the train station! - and nice location. Good breakfast and nice vibes.

It is an older timber building so very noisy. You could hear everyone in the building very loudly so it was difficult to sleep.

It was friendly and not too far from town.

As it is an old building, there are sound and the busy traffic .

Gitte Compostella is 900m from the St Jean Pied De Port train station. It is located in the town centre. The owner Lydia and her husband are exceptionally accommodating and very friendly. They picked us up from the train station and check us in immediately. After our train was delayed, cancelled and changed. Do pay £6 for the breakfast. Highly recommended for Camino pilgrims

Only one plug socket per room and I had someone else hog it all night, meaning that 3 of us had no power. The beds a little rickety. I chose not to have breakfast so didn’t interact with the staff after being picked up but that was ok.

Great location, great views. Very central so I was able to see something of St Jean in the evening and then set off promptly the next morning. The toilets are ok and there were enough sinks. Good décor.
