How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Wow! What a find. Can't believe there is accommodation this good so close to the centre of Beaune at this price. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful (even booking us a table at a local restaurant) and the accommodation has everything you need and more.

Very pretty comfortable accommodation. Bedroom with shower and outside seating area undercover. Fridge and microwave. Tea and coffee provided. Eddy was a kind friendly host who suggested a good restaurant for dinner called Le Béléna. 10 minute walk into town. Parking outside the property. Perfect for an overnight stop or a couple of days if not cooking proper meals.

Friendly host; ideal location with easy car parking in the quiet street and only 10 minutes walk into the old town. Compact studio but had everything we needed for a no-cooking stay.

It’s a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Beaune, or the railway station.
A self-contained converted garage inside the owners’ property/yard. very private, nevertheless.

Don't consider to prepare a dinner but for a little breakfast it is ok. Space is a bit limited for luggage.
Quiet little bungalow with an outdoor area. Good for a night. Owners are kind but better you can speak a few words french or have google at hands. Just a few minutes walk to downtown. Some restaurants are just around the corner. We enjoyed the expensive but really delicious L'Ecusson 2 minutes away.

We would have needed wifi at the place. Especially for the longer stays it would be important. The floor was also very cold.
Very nice and calm, newly renovated apartment. It was decorated very nicely and we had everything needed in there. We were greeted nicely when arriving. We would recommend this place, merci beaucoup !

Small little house in the garden, with one bedroom and a nice bathroom. Ideal for couples. But the bathroom has only a curtain, no door. Fine for us but maybe others want more privacy. It was very clean and the host was very nice and helpful.

We were not sure if the water from the tap was drinking water. There was some in a large pump bottle on the floor which I used but the pump part wasn't working very well.
Our host was very friendly and forgave us for not speaking much French! The accommodation was comfortable and well thought. A couple of seats outside which was nice in the morning. Location great. Only a ten minute walk to the town centre which was lovely. Great Market on the Saturday. Parked easily on the road outside the apartment.

Just a personal choice and maybe trivial - but It would have been nice to have a door between the bathroom and bedroom.
Great location, it was just a 10 minute walk into Beaune. Parking was just out side on the property on a quite road and free. The owners provided lots of facilities for their guests we didn't use most of them during our one night stay. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable.

The floors were super cold, and something (water heater, wall heater, fridge??) switched on in the night which was fairly loud. Our first interaction with the owner was a phone call where I was scolded for having used the lock box and accessing the property before 3pm, which was against the "rules" of the property. I explained that we had requested early check-in, and had received an email confirming that our early check-in time was approved. I had also sent a follow-up email the day before we arrived, reiterating our early arrival time (we had a question with respect to parking on the street), and had received separate answers from both owners so they were well aware of our intended arrival time. The tone of the phone call was off-putting, to be honest, but our stay at the cottage was pleasant.
Grain de Folie is a good place for a couple to stay for one or two nights. The location is excellent with street parking outside and a short walk to the centre of Beaune. The bathroom facilities are good (towels are very rough though!), and coffee and tea supplies are provided. The bed is very comfortable.
