Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeyThe room was very close to the train, and we had no trouble reaching any part of Paris. The cleanliness of the room was generally not bad, but the lack of an electric kettle in the room was, in my opinion, a significant drawback. We checked in at 8 in the morning, and they were helpful. Thank you to them.

JordanThere was an air draft from the windows, but they were cooperative and provided us with an electric heater. The breakfast buffet was below our expectations, with the same limited selection offered every day, which was not very encouraging. The buffet lady should be expected to be more courteous in dealing with guests. If there was a coffee maker and a small refrigerator in the room, that would have been much more convenient. The elevator is very small, only accommodating two people or max 3.
Spotless room, the bed, blankets, and pillows were very comfortable, The reception was welcoming and helpful.

United KingdomI didn't like the "heavy" smell in the reception, I don't know what that was about, but I was making an effort of ignoring it every time I came back from town. I saw quite a few receptionists throughout my 5 days stay and some didn't really respond in a knowledgeable way to my queries. I had more than once been answered that "my colleague tomorrow might be able to help with that". Fortunately there weren't extremely important things that I needed and the one that I did need most was in fact sorted after my second ask. However, the first receptionist never fed back how he was going on with sorting it. Also, didn't like that the bed sheets were not right fit for the size of the mattress, and struggling to fold them underneath so they would stay in place over night, brought up loads of all sizes hair on the mattress protector. No wonder that hair was there with those bedsheets not big enough. However, I can live with that and didn't ruin our stay at all. Only hope management takes this into consideration and makes changes. One of the lights by the bed was not working. Thought maybe the light bulb was blown. It turned out that it was only unscrewed and there is no switch to operate it, so if properly screwed in the light stays always on. Seems that it's a sloppy electrician job, that would never pass the check in any more than average hotel room.
Accessible for transport, food options, even late in the night. Fairly quiet. Room is quite spacious for a parisian budget accommodation. I've been before in Paris and the hotels were not even close to being this comfortable. Room was fairly clean, something that I would class as "acceptable" and I am quite a critical person. It is a place that I would consider next time, even if it may not be first choice.

ItalyThe rooms were small (I read as in almost everywhere in Paris) but they were clean. The location was perfect for us who travelled with kids - near the subway, restaurants and groceries. Staff were friendly and courteous. Will definitely stay again.

BelgiumThe hotel itself was smaller than how it appeared in photos. The rooms facing inwards are quieter but dark.
It was close to R. Garros tennis centre and close to green spaces tucked into a bend of the Seine. Nice if you want to be a little out of the busier touristy parts of Paris.

United KingdomSome of the staff were a little abrupt and lacked basic social social skills that you would expect from leisure industry staff (such as saying good morning, smiling, being courteous). It was quite expensive for what it was; standard room, little bit dated and not overly central to the main sights of Paris (taking approx 45 mins by Metro to get anywhere of interest).
Very spacious, quiet and clean rooms. Nice, relaxed reception area also. The location was good in that it was a nice area, plenty of local bakeries and bars close by and very close to a metro station.
