The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They did also help me before my stay with answering my questions and accommodating my requests. I did enjoy the history of the place and the family owned aspect of it. Furthermore, the location is magical and the room was spacious. The restaurant was also a great experience, very cozy (due to the fireplace and decor) yet of high standard. Great traditional dinner and breakfast. I had high expectations of the place and it delivered.

The hotel restaurant was closed during our stay (Wednesday and Thursday), except for breakfast. No hot water kettle in room, no bottled water in room, soap/shampoo in room cheap. Pity that room amenities not aligned with the magnificent venue.

Authenticity of hostellerie. Beautiful main building and village.

Tea and coffee making facilities in the bedrooms or in the lounge would have been nice. Only 2 glasses available for 4 of us in one room.

Beautiful historic 15th century building housed the rooms we stayed in. We were a family of 5. We stayed in the family room and a superior double. All very comfortable and warm. Stunning furnishings and surroundings in this fantastic preserved village. We ate a light lunch in the hostellerie - lovely charcuterie board and soup. Breakfast was served in the lounge of the building - a nice continental breakfast with hot drinks.

This is an elegant hotel in multiple medieval buildings. It is enchanting. The town is gorgeous. It is well off the beaten path. The dining experience reminded me of traveling with my parents as a teenager. Perfect.

Nothing, really. Getting to the hotel was a little tricky, but once there the parking was close and secure, so no real issues

This hotel, located in the centre of Perouges, is a real treat. Our room was up a spiral staircase and had fantastic views over the village. The restaurant was very good and we thoroughly eating there both in the evening and morning.

There was nothing we didn't like but will mention that there is not a lift so you may need to carry luggage up stairs.

The whole experience was a delight. We were guided to a secure parking spot very close to the accommodation. Our accommodation was in a lovely building just a stone's throw from the Hostellerie. The excellent breakfast was in the Hostellerie which is superb. We didn't book dinner so can't comment on that.

    Little or nothing

WOW! Not to be missed. The walled city of Perouges may be one of the most romantic towns in all of France. Certainly within a short drive of Lyons. The Hostellerie is located within the walls so one can wander about in the town during the evening when whatever crowds were there in the morning are all gone. The staff are welcoming. The restaurant is truly memorable! Parking is convenient and included in the cost of the room. We must go back soon!

Food is expensive within the Medieval Cite, most shops open about 11am. Mosquitoes at night.

Check in went well, the room had a great view, and was large in size, it was clean comfortable, and the garden for guests in the back was great, the surrounding farms are lovely in the mornings and evenings. Beware no air-conditioning if there's a heat wave, but otherwise lovely
