We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

KazakhstanThe hotel refused to give me a bed and breakfast rate and insisted that accommodation and breakfast had to be billed separately. This seems like such a trivial item. Bed and breakfast rates are standard for hotels. I don't understand why they refused to give me a bed and breakfast rate. I did not request any discount, just that the rate be combined.
Location is great. Nice and central. Easy access to cycle paths and the local tourist attractions. Many restaurants close by. Close to a main access road but still nice and quiet.

United KingdomI had asked for a quiet (high floor and away from elevator) room at booking time , as I always do as a light sleeper. This was acknowledged by both the Booking automatic system, and by the hotel staff themselves by email. On arrival, the manager assigned to me a 1st floor room overlooking the road instead, and when I asked about it, I was told that upper floor rooms are a different category. Besides the hotel being almost empty, the only solution was to accept paying extra for a "superior" room - which still ended up being next to the elevator! The room was old, especially the bathroom felt really tired. The corridor carpet was stained (from solvent?) so apart from the size there was nothing that felt "superior" about it.
The lady employee who looked after me at breakfast the first day was amazingly positive, welcoming and helpful.

We’ve stayed there a few times and liked it but it’s not as good as it was. We went out for breakfast . The carpet in our room is very worn. Outside it’s very scruffy and untidy. Weeds growing by the entrance, not swept, dirty barks on the walls. We’ve decided we don’t stay there again unfortunately .

The cleaning is terrible, they had not cleaned the floor, the carpet was dirty and we were 2 people and they only gave us a towel to bathe, we had to open the window so as not to suffocate from the heat at night and the noise was an impediment to rest. ..
