Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandNothing was bad.. But, just note that the lift is small.one person, one bag or two people. We had to ask for an iron, but we had to do in all European accommodation. The room is very small for 2 people, but we knew that when we booked, so no problem.
The location was good. We enjoyed the neighborhood vibe. There was some noise from the street at night (we left our window open). But, it was just people talking so comforting, not annoying. The cleaners did a great job.

IrelandRoom was very clean and bed was comfortable. Lucky to have had a spacious room. No noise from outside street. Staff always greeted us when passing. Location was lovely and felt safe walking around at night. Close to 2 metro lines. Didn’t eat in restaurant but it was always busy which is a good sign.

NetherlandsThe only criticism I can move is that unfortunately the WiFi was not working at all , wich is a bit difficult now days considering that you need internet for everything .
The hotel was lovely and very clean , the cleaning lady is a pro , she does her job very nicely. Our room was very nicely cleaned every morning and always had fresh new towels . The reception is open 24h per day which is great . The hotel also has a nice Italian restaurant. In the area you had a lot of bakery’s and place to eat .

AustraliaInternet connection is so-so, hot water is bit of an isssue - you have to run water for a while to get the hot water which is waste of water. Furthermore, the water fluctuates from hot to cold to boiling, not sure why. Walls/floors are not greatly insulated so if you get a noisy neighbour, it might be an issue.
Friendly Staffs and great location. Nice bakery infront and a bustling area but surprising not too much noise from the outside. Lovely housekeeping staff.

United KingdomWe were on the 6th floor and couldn’t hear any noise from the street, but the walls between rooms/corridor are so thin, you could hear the clothes hangers hitting our bedroom door quite loudly and the cleaner kept us up from 07:30 as she was having a phone conversation for more than 3 hours and it sounded like she was sitting inside our room. The room was also pretty small (but I think that’s pretty standard for Paris). Bed was comfortable but the pillows not so much.
The location was great for us, there were lots of bars and restaurants close by which is always good. Also very close to 2 different metro stations. Very clean. Complimentary coffee every day as well!

United KingdomWhilst it was nice to have a choice of 2 pillows, 1 felt really hard and the other was lumpy. There is some renovation going on inside the hotel and I slipped on some of the materials.
Good location, tall ceilings, everything you’d need in a hotel room including a little tea and coffee maker. Located on a quieter street but with a couple of restaurants so it’s got a nice atmosphere when walking around at night. Friendly welcome at reception.

IrelandNo safety deposit box in the room Although there is a kettle available to use in reception,.from a personal perspective I. would have preferred a kettle in the room instead of the Nespresso machine. The light in the corridor was on all night even though I believe it was a sensory activated light. Unfortunately there was a gap between the bottom of my room door and the floor., so the light was visible even when the room lights were off. I had to place the bed cushions against the door to block out the light. Not a huge deal. but just to note
Location was walking distance from the Bastille district. 5mins walk to the Metro station Charonne. -No 9 Line. A few bars, boulangeries and mini-marts close to the hotel Booked a Queen Room which was compact but comfortable
