Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Breakfast is good but do not take it at the opening. You will have more choice 30 min. later - like French warm Viennoiserie, croissant AND fresh fruits...

MalaysiaThe room was overall very bare of amenities expected for a 3-star hotel: No tissue paper provided (the toilet paper were sort of tissue paper instead of proper toilet rolls); only soap and shower gel provided (no shampoo and conditioner); only cups available were disposable plastic ones; no kettle or fridge (at least there was a working safe). While we won't expect a 3-star hotel to have all the above, most 3-star hotels we've stayed in in the last few years would have at least some of these amenities. I guess we needed to manage our expectations given the attractive price. The beds felt narrower than other twin beds in Europe (we booked a room with 2 twin beds). The duvets weren't very breathable so we'd be too warm under it, but the AC would be too cold to sleep in without the duvet, which created a strange juxtaposition. [This last point isn't the hotel's fault, but we would like to warn other travelers] Even though there is a tram stop 3 minutes' walk from the hotel, the ticket machine wouldn't accept international credit cards (we've tried 2 different ones which worked pretty much anywhere else in Europe) and only takes coins (not even Euro bills), which we found very inconvenient. We had luggages and were hoping to be able to take the tram to the train station, but ended up having to walk as we didn't have enough coins.
Hotel des Halles was one of the most reasonably priced hotels we could find in Dijon (and also France for our trip this time) that is still fairly centrally located. Even though the street where the hotel is located was pretty quiet (nothing around), it was only a few minutes' walk from the old town and 10-minute walk from the Dijon train station. The room was well designed for the small space - we especially liked the ledge above the beds that created additional space for laying things out. The hotel has a nice lobby and courtyard but we unfortunately didn't have much time to spend there. Friendly and helpful staff, including helping us figure out and book an additional room in the hotel for the 2nd and 3rd nights even though no room was available online.

United KingdomThe car park is rather further away than 250 yards and, unless you find the exit/entrance with a lift from -3 to lower ground PLUS lower ground to street you have to take bags up 2 flights of stairs. We should have left our bags in reception and THEN gone to the car park. (that's what we did when we left)
Reception area very pleasant and enjoyed drinks one evening in the lounge area. The continental breakfast was good and we were able to sit outside in the couryard which was beautiful.

AustraliaI would have preferred a more substantial door between the bedroom and the bathroom. It was a sliding door that was loosely attached and swayed outwards. It also tended to slide partially open by operation of gravity after I closed it.
The room was quiet and comfortable. It was not large, but it was value for money. The staff were friendly and could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was tasty and offered lots of choice. We arrived by train and were able to step straight onto a tram and off at Goudrons-Les Halles stop, only 3 minutes walk to the hotel. The hotel is also close to the restaurants around Les Halles.

CanadaThe front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I am very thankful to the late evening gentleman at the front desk (with wavy hair and sorry I didn’t get his name) that he was kind enough to call me to check on my arrival and make sure he would be helpful for my late arrival the next morning when our train trip was cancelled and my partner and I had to take a 10 hr bus ride to Dijon. Thank You!

Great location in a reasonably quiet setting. Room was comfortable, clean and just about big enough although as we were staying five nights we did ask to be moved to a larger room. Breakfast was pretty good.
