Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Very friendly staff. You have parking place in the same building, that’s very convenient because the hotel is close to the downtown. You have water heater in the room to make tea or coffee.

IrelandPossibly the breakfast was a bit expensive at 16 euro (however it was abundant) and since things like butter and jam were all open and shared, my coeliac son could not eat anything for the risk of contamination.
The staff was extremely friendly and ready to help. The room was really nice, comfy and clean. Breakfast was abundant and good, with lots of choices. There were nice touches, like free chocolates in the room and a "tea/coffee corner" downstairs.

United StatesKey card for the room gave us some trouble, but the staff addressed the issue promptly and was very friendly.
The room was not your typical hotel room. We needed accommodations for my family of 5 while traveling, and Kaijoo was a perfect fit. The kids loved the bunk beds on the side of the wall. Our room overlooked the street and courtyard and was near local bakeries and attractions. My only regret is that we couldn't spend more time before leaving to catch an early train.

The staff is very professional and kind - many thanks to them. I loved the fact that there is Jura coffee machine accessible 24/7. I also like the fact that you can refuse to have your room cleaned as many days as you wish for environmental concerns. The breakfast is excellent.

GermanyWe liked everything about this cosy place. If I have to write something here then.......the room was quite small, but that didn´t bother us because we spent most of our time out and about. The shower was somewhat old, but it was clean and totally acceptable for this price category. This place is difficult to get to by car using the address of the hotel in your car navi. Be sure to use the address of the parking which will be provided after making your reservation via the booking.com app (unfortunately we missed this and spent over one hour caught up in the one way systems even though we were only a few hundred metres from the destination! After some time I ended up walking to the hotel where the nice lady on the reception gave me the alternative address,). When approaching the parking take care not to miss it (it´s quite disguised, in a narrow one way street, on the left-hand side between two large plant pots), if you do miss it you´ll have to drive all the way around the town again which is frustrating during rush-hour - but is all part of the adventure!
Super location in the heart of the city. We were lucky enough to get one of the few, parking spots in the in-house underground parking for €25 per night. There is a lift directly from the parking to the reception. Friendly and simple check-in. Free refreshments in the lobby! Lift to the upper floors. Small double room with en-suite shower-room/w.c. Nice and clean. Comfortable bed and bedding. Tea/coffee facilities in the room. The breakfast offered a wide choice which was plentiful and fresh. Delicious, qualitative croissants, coffee and orange-juice. Staff in the breakfast room were efficient and friendly.

BelgiumThe room layout this time was pretty crazy, and pretty inconvenient. I've stayed there before and other rooms are more normal. On this occasion the bed was fine, but it was pushed into the middle of the room as an island, which left little room for the guests around it. It was also pretty crazy that you end up with a narrow corridor between the headboard and the wall, and that is where you have the table, in the form of a sort of board. If you want to sit at a table in this room, you end up on a little stool in this sort of dark tunnel, which is pretty depressing. It really is not a good idea. So, I ended up sitting on the bed, holding my cup or my device in my hands (there also is no bedside table because it's too narrow, so the only place to put stuff on is high up behind your head on the headboard shelf). Everything was otherwise fine, but the layout is really not a good idea
The reception area is nice enough and the staff are ok. It's good they have a little fountain and a water dispenser with mint, lemon and such. It's also pretty cool you can make coffee/tea and there are a few little nibbles for guests.

SwitzerlandDespite we had asked for a quiet room, we had a room facing the street and were woken up from the noise of the 1st tram. Not all the staff were friendly and helpful. The family room is over-priced
great location, in the middle of the city. The duty manager (a young man) was very customer orientated. He also explained that the hotel is planning for a renovation to improve a better living condition.
