Our room was quite dark and did not have a window, and had an odd setup. Would have liked more natural light if possible

The decor made it seem like our room was in a cave which was charming but inside the room there was a stone tile step that I kept tripping on (bad design). There was a kitchen area but all it had was a small table and an empty coffee machine? The toilet paper was kinda rough.

We liked that the hotel was clean and quiet. It was convenient to have secured parking a few doors down from the hotel for just $17 a day. The breakfast was decent, coffee, yogart, bread ( mini-baguettes that were harder that traditional.) Very nice to have shower/shampoo gel in the bathroom. Towels and linens were nice and clean.

The rooms may be a bit dated (bit small, no minibar), but honestly, it's not a big deal. Beds are comfortable, the place is clean, AC works. Nothing to complain.

They looked after us well. We arrived with a fully loaded car that was too tall for the parking garage. They allowed us to use the staff carpark outside, which was very convenient and great service. The location is great, nice and central near Lyon Perrache, great to reach all the attractions in the city.

The “double” room was just adequate size for me alone. It was exceptionally snug. my friends’ double was a little bit larger.

Quite conveniently situated, one could reach just about everything of Lyon on foot (I do not shy away from a bit of a hike). The staff were delightful. The place was spotless and the room well serviced. The breakfast was ample and inexpensive. the room rate was very reasonable indeed.

The bedrooms would be much more appealing if the decor were similar to the restaurant. They are very plain, like a college dorm room. Everything works, which is good; but the simple furniture and lack of wall decorations makes the room disappointing. We enjoyed walking up into the old town and city; but the scene immediately outside the hotel door is urban and gritty and a bit off-putting. I know Hotelo cannot change the roads and other parts of the city surrounding them; and I appreciate the effort they put into making the reception so welcoming; but I feel the need to warn friends that the location is not attractive and they may not feel so comfortable on that road in the dark.

The staff make this place! They are warm, welcoming, accommodating, knowledgeable about the city and keen to share. Also the breakfast is wonderful. They have decorated in a sweet way with lots of tiny thoughtful touches. The range of food is very good -- better than more expensive hotels.

We decided to keep our towels, so hang them them up to dry. Unfortunately housekeeping folded them and put them on top of each other, so 1) they couldn't dry and 2) we couldn't tell anymore whose towels was whose

The bathroom smells like mold, and you can see mold on the floor and walls.

It has a good location regarding restaurants and walking to the old city.it is also well connected to public transportation. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It was a good place to stay for a couple of nights.

The guy that checked us in at night was a bit sleepy, could not find our name, even after spelling it and didn't tell us where our room was so we ended up on the wrong level.

We had a good breakfast. We were a bit early but we could already leave our luggage at the reception and by arrival at night it was already in our room. Excellent location to explore the city from.

The hotel is not as central as some people might like but for an overnight stay on route to the South, it was entirely satisfactory.

Exceptional care and concern shown by the Owner, especially with parking arrangements new by. The hotel is is distinctive and unconventional but all the facilities and amenities are there and good.

The one negative point was that the internet was not secure which surprised me. Shame as otherwise I would have given the hotel top marks

The central location was great as it was close to the rail station I arrived at and for sightseeing, accessing restaurants etc. The staff were very helpful especially when my French vocabulary was insufficient to ask what I needed. The breakfast was very good with a nice choice. My room was clean and comfortable.

So I'm feeling ambiguous about this: 1) Our room was small, but perfectly functional for showering & sleeping. 2) Housekeeping came in daily - I wish they had a towel policy where they wouldn't re-fresh - cause the world has a water problem. 3) Air conditioner was above one of the single bed.

The famous Brasserie Georges could be seen from our room window - so salivation started upon arrival. This area of Lyon, is full of great bouchons, bistrots, and bakeries. My trip was too short to explore other parts of the city unfortunately, but I very much enjoyed getting "lost" here. Staff was friendly, informative and attentive. A small tile of soap is given as the only hygiene amenity which I actually appreciated - cause there is too much plastic junk given by the hotels.

The hotel is very simple yet feels like a family run place. The staff was so pleasant, polite and nice. The breakfast area is simple yet luminous and comfortable. The rooms are small but have light and the bathrooms are fully renovated.
