How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Softer bed.
Staff were very nice and helpful. Bed a bit hard for my arthritic body, I normally like a much softer mattress.Breakfast was ok, a bit of fuel for my onward journey.

Very tired, basic plastic cubicle style toilet and shower. Not really a budget price for a very basic hotel.
Staff were friendly. Location was very convenient for the auroroute. Within very easy walking distance of several chain restaurants. Bedroom was very clean.

Dog allowed in hotel, but strange enough not in hotel’s restaurant. We were told this when seated and having breakfast that our Maltese was not welcome, so we cut our breakfast short, though we paid for it upfront. Strange to prefer dog to stay in an unfamiliar room rather than have him with his family. Not a dealbreaker for us, as long as the weather is good and we can eat outside, but not a nice feeling.
Dog allowed. Friendly personnel.

Toilet not clean, and bathroom/toilet too basic/cheap/uncomfortable. Breakfast had not a lot of options, not enough food for all guests.

Shower facilities were poor. The need to keep pushing the shower button to keep the water on was awful and difficult for anyone, let alone a disabled person. No toilet seat - it was like a public toilet. Could do with a couple more pillows for comfort. Breakfast was very limited and pastries were poor.
Room was clean and easy access for a disabled person. Bed was fairly comfortable.

You could smell that people smoked in that bedroom before. Toilette reminded me of airplane toilettes.
Receptionist was nice and helpful. Parking was available next to the hotel.

I know it aas a budget hotel, but basic would have been a more suitable word. A hard bed, an echoey toilet and a dismal breakfast.....
The location was the reason for choosing this hotel, and it was fine. The room was spotlessly clean.

The fire alarm went off twice at night due to some issues in the kitchen. No aircon but staff helped with a fan.

The toilet didn’t flush very well had to flush 3 or 4 times each use. Room was very clean just super small. Ok for 1 person but for two was quite cramped. I’ve never stayed at an Ibus property before and I’ve since found out most are very small rooms
Staff were wonderful! Very helpful. I had medicine that needed refrigeration and since the room didn’t have a mini fridge they kindly kept it in their fridge and froze my gel pack. I had requested extra pillows and were happy to see they brought to my room. Breakfast was more than expected and very good.

A kettle would have been useful even without coffee sachets as we had our own

We stop here for the night on the way back to Germany from Bordeaux. I didn’t notice I booked a wrong date in booking. Good thing the front desk was very helpful, i was able to rebook it again thru booking. It is only 15 mins to the city of Orleans. Clean rooms also, good for one night of good sleep. There is also restaurant around the corner and McDonalds and KFC is nearby. We had a good one night stay.

The breakfast options. One of the people who was in the group has a gluten intolerance. That’s why she only can eat yoghurt or fruits but there was no yoghurt only bread and croissants. She paid 6,5 but didn’t had any breakfast and they refuse to give us money back. Still don’t understand why we didn’t got our money back for this.
The beds slept good, the douche was also nice.

Nothing really stands out as a dislike. Hard to find any faults
Gave us exactly what we wanted for an overnight stay. Staff polite & efficient. Bed was comfortable & breakfast was good too.
