Charming helpful hostess. We spoke to her in our rusty French and don’t know if she can speak English but friendly smiles and gestures get folk quite far! We had off road, gated parking. The house is in a quiet street with large, 300 year old houses with heaps of character and history. Our accommodation comprised a large bedroom with en suite and a separate lounge and small outside terrace garden with table and chairs. The property had a large garden we were welcome to use. Attractive antique and mature furniture. Madame provided us with an attractively presented and plentiful, good breakfast - home made jams and plenty of choice of cereals, fruit compote, juice, yoghurt, fruit, breads, cakes, croissants…… we were sorry we could only stay 1 night.

Rustic and authentic accommodation in center of Loudun. Good facilities and good breakfast. Friendly host although a bit challenging to communicate in English.

Not really a problem, but the water pressure in the shower was weak.

We had a very nice stay. It was the first night of our vacation and it set the week off on a very good foot. The hotel was comfortable and roomy. The bathroom was nice and clean and had plenty of light. We slept well and breakfast was good. I would have like to be able to stay in Loudun a bit longer, but I will consider L'etape as a base for my next visit to the Loire region.

Thought really hard and couldn't come up with anything. Ideally suitable for our stay. Went away feeling totally happy.

L'etape de Loudun filled us with joy! Lovely old building in town, with gardens & courtyard to rear and easy parking in the street. Caroline was outstandingly helpful and welcoming; our ground floor rooms were exceptionally spacious, stylish with period fittings and spotlessly clean. Shared eating/ self-catering facilities were well equipped, and the breakfast provided was outstanding. The whole place had a reassuring feeling of welcome. Lovely. The town of Loudun has historic buildings and out in the country there are dolmens ...

That we only stayed one night, I was disappointed to leave. We'd love to come back!

The apartment was excellent. Large, clean and very comfortable. A lot of thought had gone into making this a relaxing place to stay. There were plenty of clean towels and toiletries, there were even board games and books in tbe children's room. The host was exceptional and went out of her way to cater for my dietary needs for our breakfast.

Our accommodation was perfect, spacious and comfortable with very welcoming hosts who were there to meet us. If the weather had been better we would have made more use of outdoor space. No complaints

Breakfast was perfect for us, croissants, fresh baguettes and coffee. The location suited our trip as a stop off between the Dordogne and Dieppe.
