Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only negative is we didn't get to stay longer, La Rochelle and the area is beautiful.
Jocelyne has thought of everything you can possibly need in this studio flat and is extremely helpful and should you need anything. The location is so good for exploring and there is lots of information supplied for places to eat etc. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to return in the future, would definitely book again and will recommend should anyone we know look to visit. Parking outside is hard to obtain and is paid with meters in the road but Jocelyne provides directions to free parking near by. That information is clear but the actual car park was slightly confusing, faded lines for the spaces. However, it may be useful to others to say that the majority of the spaces are free with about 70 paid. Avoid those marked with yellow as these are reserved for the daily market and your car will get towed as needed 6 to 10.30am As long as you park in the white spaces not marked payant you are fine.

AustraliaBreakfast fresh baguettes and a brioche loaf provided for first day. Multiple coffee option capsules or plunger provided. A welcome bottle of wine & potato chips. Great location to visit all the sites or shopping. Our host was onsite and attentive to any needs. The room contained owners own art work and information brochures (French) and a few novels in english. Parking is offsite we managed to get free parking in close by public car park. Overall would highly recommend the studio rooms for 2 when visiting La Rochelle.

HungaryThe studio is in the center of La Rochelle, 2 minutes walk from the main square and about 7-10 minutes from the old port. We always found parking on the street. The studio is very nice, very well equipped and very convenient for a few days stay. However, the best part is the two owners - Jocelyne and Georges - and their wonderful painting all over the house and the studio. Definitely recommended for a reasonable budget stay.

United KingdomNothing.
Everything about this place was perfect. Comfortable, very stylish, and had everything we needed. Location was wonderful, just a 10 or 15 min walk from the town centre and old port. The (free) parking was exactly as explained, just a ten minute walk away in a huge open air car park. There is also paid parking outside the property, but we only used this to unload and load the car.

Superbly clean, the welcome and the hospitality were excellent. The room was comfortable and so nice to stay in, it had everything provided to make a stay memorable, the attention to detail was lovely. Joceylen went out of her way to make our stay very special. She helped us with her local knowledge and was on hand to answer any questions we had. The location was very good to explore the town and local attractions.

United KingdomL'Art Studio is fitted to the highest standard. Our room was a generous size with en suite bathroom. I came with a kitchen with kettle, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, fridge. We had a welcome bottle of fizz, and provisions for breakfast on our first morning. It is on a quiet street, yet only 10-15 minutes walk to the waterfront, where there are many bars and cafes. We arrived by car and after unloading were directed to free parking close by. All in all, an excellent base to visit La Rochelle.

United KingdomJocelyn gave us a warm welcome and had very kindly provided some fresh bread and a lovely bottle of wine. This apartment is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The location is very good with a lovely bakery around the corner of the street, and the centre within a fairly short walk. The free car parking is in a local car park which is approx a 10 minute walk. Outstanding!

United KingdomUnfortunately we stayed during a heatwave and relied on a fan to bring temperature down. The owner did all she could to minimise temperature but there is no air conditioning.

United StatesThere is nothing negative to say. Honestly - it was fantastic.
This apartment was immaculate and comfortable. The location was easy walking distance to the port area and shops yet on a side street so quiet and in the historic old part of the city. Everything you might need was provided and it was decorated with great care and style (the owner is an artist). Studio is in a large beautiful old home, yet completely updated with your own private entrance.

United KingdomThere was nothing we did not like about the property.
It was beautifully and tastefully appointed with everything you could need for a stay. There was very close attention to detail and the location was perfect for accessing the old town yet very quiet for sleeping. When we arrived there was wine and snacks as well as everything required for our first breakfast - very thoughtful. There were maps and guides which helped us for planning- such as the nearest bakery and supermarket.
